Ok, so it says that i am signed in to the xbox live and i know that my card has expired and i went and got a new one but when i went to the marketplace it said i wasn't signed in so i clicked sign in and it still said i wasn't signed in afterwards so then i went to test media and xbox live connection the xbox live connection was fine but i tested the media and now it says my pc selected has failed so i installed media palyer 11 and still wouldn't work im completely clueless sombody help
When you get to the Market place scroll down with your D-pad and stop on Redeem Code, insert the code info from your new card, select the profile you want to associate it with and that should update your account with your new paid subscription.
I forgot to mention that the card they might be referring to could be your credit card info has expired, try to log in again and if this is the case you should get an Update info screen, click yes to update your info, update your credit card, then go back to market place and redeem your code info from the new card you purchased

You have to sign into a account with Xbox Live, then connect to the internet, and basicly start the game.
If you don't have Xbox Live, just sign into your gamer profile, and press one of those advertisements for Xbox Live on the dashboard, and follow the instructions.

When did you sign up for the 1 year account? It could've expired and you didn't know you were getting close to the expiration date. If it's been less than a year then call Customer Support at 1-800-4MY-XBOX
Go to the xbox live website and sign in with your email and password which should direct you to your gamertag and there should be payment options to renew the credit card subscription or purchase the month cards at a store like Gamestop or Walmart. Xbox.com
yes it would tell you if live had expired ! did you buy the xbox new or used ?? if used it is possible it has been banned from live access ?? if it has been banned buying a new harddrive wont get it back on ! if you bought it new & have never had a live account before then take the free month trial befor you use the 3 month u got ! just go thru the process of signing up to 'silver' membership ! what eva it asks (as it does a few times) refuse 'Gold' membership ! and select 'Silver' !! if it hasnt already had the free 1 month trial it will say at the end of signing for silver.....to try gold for a month to see what ur missing ! :-) after the month is up...use the 3 month you got !
Your xbox live membership may have run out. i had the same problem yesterday as mine had expired. The automatic renewal had not taken place as my credit card details were out of date.
You can check your xbox membership status via your PC at xbox.com. log in woith your email address and password you supplied at the time you initially joined xbox live.
