No audio

Driver: Small piece of software that allows the Operating System to communicate with a device.

Windows XP and Windows 7 are two examples of an O/S.
The audio chipset is the device in this case.

http://support.fujitsupc.com/CS/Portal/supportsearch.do

Click on the blue underlined - Audio - under the appropriate Operating System you are using.
Since you didn't state what O/S you are using, I am going to choose Windows XP Home for an example.

Click on the blue underlined Audio, under the Windows XP Compatible Drivers subheading.

Under the Fujitsu Software License Agreement, click on Accept.
A small window will come up on the right -
Opening S5582_AUDIO_WINXP-HOME.exe

Click on Save File.
Another small window will come up on the left.
Let the file fully download. Then DOUBLE-click right on the file name.
If a Microsoft 'squawk box' comes up ignore it. Click on Run.

At the bottom of the next 3 small windows, click on Next, Next, and Finish.

If you are not asked to do so restart your computer.
(Start > Turn Off Computer > Turn Off )

My emachine keeps telling me that my hard drive is not working what can I do

If you can still boot to windows, the first thing that you need to do if you encounter errors like these is to back up your files. Then try to defrag your computer and then run chkdsk.
Here is a link on how to defrag (in case you didn't know): this will make your computer run a bit faster
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314848
And here is a link on running chkdsk
http://www.updatexp.com/windows-xp-chkdsk.html
if you find more than 20 bad sectors, it is time to say goodbye to your HDD

My computer keeps restarting on windows startup with a blue screen then reboots?

You may have a windows registry problem that is stopping windows.
Try pressing F8 while it is booting up and start in safe mode.
After booting up in safe mode, try running system restore and set is back to a later date that will allow the computer to boot up in normal mode.

You may have to try this several times to find a good date that will work.

If this continues, you may have to reload windows and start over. (Sorry for the bad news)

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue.

Computer is not starting up in standard windows mode. dell media keeps popping up and when i exit the program my pc shuts down. i tried ctrl and f8 it brings me to a short menu. (1) continue restart...

Are you running Window XP? Is your computer set to hibernate? If so, you may have a hibernation error...

If I understand correctly, while pressing F8 during bootup you received a message that states:
"System restart has been paused:
Continue with system restart.
Delete restoration data and proceed to system boot menu"

You may wish to read this article about the error. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/294427

Then, go ahead and do that second option. What hibernate does is write a big file to the HD with the exact state of Windows. That is a "restoration" file. If hibernate doesn't work, deleting the restoration file will often allow the computer to restart normally.

Good luck! Please post back with your results.

My computer keeps restarting why??

HI, your system has contracted a nasty virus that has destroyed a vital system 32 file that is needed for stability. You will have to preform a restoration to bring back stability and continuity. A good way to do this is to use the system restore disk that should have been delivered along with this unit. if you don't have this disk, you can use a Windows Xp install disk as well. be sure to wipe the partitions and reformat the drive to rid the system of this horrid virus attack.

My hp lap top keeps going into option safe mode then shows me the first screen windows xp then goes back to option safe mode and other options

Hi,

It is possible that your system boot was setup to safe mode everytime it boots up. You may try the steps below.

1. Boot your system to safe mode.

2. Go to Start then Run

3. On the run box type msconfig

4. Look for the tab boot.ini , under this tab uncheck the box that says safeboot then click apply

5. Restart the computer.

Keep me posted.

Thanks.

If you are using a pre-Windows xp system you may need to install specific drivers for your HD. If you run xp or Vista Try disconnecting completely the power cable from your computer for five minutes and then plug it back to the power and restart it. I know it sounds weird, but sometimes usb mass storage devices suffer troubles caused by electrostatic charges.

My windows xp keep rebooting after shutdown

You should be able to change this setting in the PC bios menu. Windows XP should interact with this and change it automatically, but it occasionally doesn't. If you have trouble finding the appropriate menu and changing it, please post back with details of your PC (ideally motherboard make and model) and we can hopefully talk you through it. When the computer starts up, there should be a screen before the windows XP screen which says something like "press f8 to enter BIOS setup", but all machines are a little different. If you can get into the BIOS setup, only change things which you are sure you know what they will do, or you can cause all sorts of problems. Hope this helps, post back with system details if you need more :)
