My washer works good until it is time to spin. One guy says it is the timer because it will spin out on another cycle only if I push timer to that particular spot. The other cycles will not spin out. For example, Gentle, Normal, but on the soak cycle it will but I have to turn the dial to spin it out. What do you think

Maytag washer squeaks when spin cycle stops

We have a Maytag Performa G3300 that we bought on 8/13/2001. It still works great, but on 2/25/10 it stopped heating. We found that by removing the front panel and vacuuming the accumulated lint on the inside of the dryer and the door, the problem was resolved. There were no parts to replace, just vacuuming.

Water won't stop running, won't advance or wash or spin cycle

CHECK THE TIMER AND SEE IF YOU CAN FIX IT. THAT IS USUALLY THE FIRST SIGN THAT YOUR WASHER DOESN'T WORK. ON THE OTHER HAND, IT COULD BE ANY NUMBER OF THINGS, BUT CHECK THE TIMER FIRST. IT SHOULDN'T BE THAT HARD TO REPLACE THE TIMER.

Maytag Performa - Loud Noises during Spin Cycle

This washer is JUNK!!!!!! We have the same washer (2 1/2 years old) and same problem. Tried to replace the bearing myself, no luck. So I called a repair man to come out and look at it. As soon as i told him the model number, they would'nt even come out. Very common problem for this washer. We are on our way to Sears to purchase a Kenmore.....GOOD LUCK

Maytag performa series washer

I purchased a Maytag Performa washer in 2003 and experienced the same thing. A service call found a loose electrical connection behind the switch panel. The washer has worked fine since.
Hope this helps.

Does not spin in most cycles

It sounds like your timer is defective.  If this is the case you will have to replace it.
