Scanner Problem Problem with scanner part of an HP Laserjet 3055 All-in-One. The software was reinstalled. Now when you click on the icon to scan, it gives choices of what kind of scan (scan to email, scan to file, etc.). After you make the choice there is another window to "Select Source". Only there are NO choices and 2 buttons: Select and Cancel.

    Same problem. All setup, but when the box opens to select source, there is no source listed. I installed the suggested package, to no avail.

    I have the same problem. I'm using a windows xp machine. It was all working fine - until I updated the firmware. Then scanning would not work. So, since I had lost my orginal cd, I downloaded the latest from HP website - and tried to install. Those downloads gave me all sorts of errors while installing itself - basically the installs were all unsuccessful. I spent countless hours with HP Online Chat - and all failed. Then I got the original cd from a friend and used that to install - bingo. However when I tried to scan - got the problem of "select source" - something which never existed before. What the solution?

Scanner error 2

Hi,

You can't just hit the SCAN button on the scanner. It won'd work.

Go in the control panel and click on Scanners & Cameras and you should see the HP icon there. Click it and scan from that menu. The scanner should work if you installed the software correctly.

Here is the correct link for your unit with all the GOOD software if all else fails
Download the drivers for your printer and install. ( Uninstall the previous software from Control panel Add/Remove Programs )

HP Laser Jet 3055 is showing scanner error 6 and Comm. error 386, 232, & 388

This is due to a hardware failure, the scanner assembly and the formatter board will need to be replaced.

NVRAM INIT
1. Turn off the all-in-one
2. Press and hold down the * and enter buttons.
3. Continue to hold down the buttons while you turn on the all-in-one. Hold the buttons throughout the entire power-on sequence.
4. When Permanent Storage Init. appears on the control-panel display, release the buttons.
5. Allow the all-in-one to return to Ready before using it. storage init. appears, and then release the buttons.

Scanner only scanning half a page

try to reinstall the printer driver software. you can download the printer driver software from your printer manufacturer's web site then restart the computer and printer.

HP 3055 All In One laserjet prints all black pages

Odds are that you have a bad toner cartridge; especially common when using remanufactured cartridges. (Staples, Corporate Express, etc.) Replace your cartridge with an OEM HP cartridge and you should be OK.

HP3055 scanner not recognizing computer

yes please goto hp.com and there will be a tab that says support and drivers click on it then click on dowload software and driver downloads and download the HP LaserJet 3050/3052/3055/3390/3392 North America/Western Europe Full Software Solution
install it and then it will work. You will get either an hp director icon on the desktop or the hp solution centre.Open either one and click on settings then point to scan settings and click on scan to setup and in the new window make sure all the listed items should be on the right hand side(if they are not then please move them manually by selecting the item and pressing the right arrow button).
There are new patches and in the downloaded software there is a software called ocr which will help it work..If this still does not work could be a problem with the scanner bulb and if ur making a scan from the adf then the adf has a separate in built scanner glass apart from the scanner bed.If this does not resolve the issue call in to hp at 1800 474 6836 and we will either replace your printer or give you and upgrade or something like that.

If you scanner error 5 or printer hangs at scanner bulb warming up than the issue is with Scanning Assembly inside the printer and it is hardware issue.
