Make sure the cartridge is genuine. If yes, uninstall and reinstall the pc unit and the toner cartridge. If you get the same error a firmware fix may resolve the problem. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support for further assistance.

If this is a genuine Lexmark device and a genuine Lexmark cartridge and you followed all the install instructions, return it to where you bought it for a replacement. If you get grief there, contact Lexmark directly. Please have your receipt available when you take these actions.
The Lexmark x340 and x342n has 3 sensors that identify the path of the paper below it. 2 are below the feeder roll of paper and the other in fusion. Clean the sensor or adjust the tamnho the paper tray to which the document is.

What is happening is that a paper sensor is either hung or jamed so that the sensor is incorectly reporting an error .
I would remove the cartridge and using a flash light search for any scrap of paper that may be in the paper path. If you can't find any, I would next looked for a sensor flag to see if it is jammed out of position.
