You can transfer audio and image files to an expansion card in your handheld. It's easy; just perform a HotSync operation after placing the files into the Install Tool. Here's how: 1. Insert an SD expansion card into your device. 2. On your desktop computer, launch Palm Desktop (even if you normally synchronize with another application). 3. Click the Install button. 4. At the top of the Install Tool window, make sure the correct user name is chosen from the pulldown menu. 5. Drag and drop the audio or image files from your hard drive into the Install Tool window. 6. You'll notice that the destination for the audio files will always be "Secure Digital card." You can install audio files only to an expansion card, and not to the device's internal memory. 7. Perform a HotSync operation. 8. Launch your handheld's third-party audio player and open songs from your expansion card, or launch your handheld's image viewer and open images from the card. Please refer to the audio player's or image viewer's documentation to learn how to do this (it varies from application to application).

My mother board c.d doesn't install audio driver.

Hi ranaboys_anu,
I see you mentioned that your motherboard does not install you Audio Driver.
What error does it say when installing the driver?
If the Audio driver does not install you will need to check in BIOS if the audio device built in the board is enable or not if it is disabled more or less it will have issues on installing the built in Audio driver.
If you have an Expansion Audio card then it gives an error when installing it then the Audio card is most likely experiencing problems possible faulty.
First get in the BIOS and check if the Audio Device is Enabled.
To get in BIOS on your Desktop as soon as you power the machine ON keep on tapping F1 or Delete on the keyboard

I installed windows XP on my desktop and when i was about to play a music, it displayed no audio device. Can you help me in my problem? I am not familiar with this desktop. Any help is appreciated.

You need to install the motherboard's device drivers after installing Windows XP. If the audio card is built-in on the motherboard then you need to doenload the audio driver from the motherboard manufacturer's WEB site.
If the audio card is installed on the PCI expansion slot the you need to download the audio driver from the audio card manufacturer's WEB site.
If your computer isn't connected to the Internet then you need to download the drivers from a computer that has Internet connection and then copy these files to a flash memory stick and install them on your computer.
The other way to upgrade is to install a driver upgrade program, but this will only work if your computer has Internet connection is up and running. Try these WE sites :-

I am thinking of buying a Tyan motherboard that has an option of installing the Tyan Riser Card 2091. My question how is the expansion card attached to the motherboard. The manual makes no mention of...

You dont mention what you wish to use this motherboard for.
Most if not all tyan motherboard are for servers. This is of little use to the average computer user.
Try looking on google "tyan riser card m2041"

Dell e520 running Vista fully updated has no sound

Depending on the audio hardware configuration, you may have a hardware conflict.

If you have an expansion sound card (Usually a Soundblaster card in the slots below the video card) then you need to ensure the integrated audio in BIOS is DISABLED.

If you have no expansion card, then ensure the BIOS Audio device is ENABLED.

If integrated and no device found in Device Manager, turn it off in BIOS, reboot then reenable it and see if it is detected.

If issue still continues, try flashing the BIOS and see if that resolves. If no change, you may end up getting an expansion audio card or resintalling Windows to resolve.

AUDIO DRIVER

If you get any message when installing Conexant High Definition Audio Drivers in your Notebook, make sure that you had already installed the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture(UAA) Drivers before installing the Audio Drivers.

Download the Microsoft UAA drivers for your Notebook available through the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe

Download and save the files in the Hard Drive of the Notebook and double click on the file to install the Drivers.

Restart the Notebook and you should be able to install the Conexant High Definition Audio Drivers which are available for download from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32864.exe

This should solve your issue.

However, if you get any errors installing the above audi Drivers, you need to try installing the Conexant AC-Link Audio Drivers as your Notebook may not be installed with Conexant High Definition Audio card :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32272.exe

Save the file and double click on it to install the drivers in your Notebook.

This should work...

Need drivers

First, of all, we need to check whether your Notebook is having Conexant AC-Link audio or Conexant High Definition audio or not.

Try installing the Conexant AC-Link Audio drivers by downloading them from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32272.exe

Save the driver file on to the Hard Drive of the Notebook and double click to install it once the download is completed.

However, if you get any errors with installing the file, I recommend you to delete that file and try installing the Microsoft UAA Drivers and HD Audio Drives.

Download the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture(UAA) Drivers from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe

Save the file and double click once it is saved to install the file.

Restart the Computer once the installation is completed.

Now, download the Conexant High Definitino audio drivers from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32864.exe

Save the file and double click it to install the audio drivers.

Similarly, there are two types of Modems installed in DV1000 series Notebooks and below are the drivers for the same.

Conexant AC97 Soft Data/Fax Modem with SmartCP Driver :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32273.exe

Conexant HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP :
(You need to have the Microsoft UAA Drivers installed before installing this modem drivers)
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32210.exe

The Mass Storage Controller in the Device Manager indicates the Card Reader integrated in the Notebook and below are the drivers for both types of card readers available for your series of Notebook :

Ricoh 6-in-1 Card Reader Driver :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32126.exe
