Standby light blinks to Sony TVs are fault indications. Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.

Please let me know if it has a pattern of blinks (separated by a pause) or it will flash an exact number of times. Your unit (KV-34HS420) has a built in self diagnostic software that will indicate the probable caused of the fault by flashing of the LED at the front panel.

it seems to be a problem with the tube in your tv

Hold hair dryer to back right side on high heat for a couple of seconds while you hit the power button several times. It only took 2 times for my set to power on. Good Luck!

• +5 line is overloaded. (AY, BY, MY
Boards)
• +5 line is shorted. (AY, BY, MY Boards.)
• IC504 is faulty. (AY Board)

I think, TV screen has white-balance failure thats why TV light blinks 5 times.
While living in Pakistan, I can't fix your TV there. In my point of view, it doesn't cost much and you should contact nearest Sony repair shop.
