How can i run digi001 with window 7 pc - Digidesign Mbox 2 Barebone

Without any hardware upgrades, I'd say no. Below are the minimum requirements to run Win 7. A stock model of your laptop doesn't meet the minimum.

If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:

• 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor
• 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit)
• 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit)
• DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver

You can tell any program in Windows 7 to run in Windows98 compatible mode. The standard format on windows2000 was fat32 Windows7 should run it but try to right click on the opening program and run it in 98 compatible mode. If not then XP mode Windows XP would run in either format fat32 or NTFS.

It should be able to without any problems

go to microsoft .com and do a compadibility check

you need to install Uli sata drivers in order for your motherboard to recognize the harddrive and cd drive.

and put them on a cd or memory card, when the system prompts you that you have no harddrive, you can load the drivers from a memory card or cd however if you use a cd you will face other issues. then you will be able to install windows 7 ;)

I did it on my acer e500 and it runs good.
I didn't install the 64 bits version though but the 32 bits.

for all the people saying that his pc is too old: if the pc can run under vista, it runs better under windows 7

Due to the DIGI001 ASIO settings, the HALion engine and program should be used as a plug-in (VSTi) in your master DAW, (i.e., Sonar, ProTools, Cubase, etc.) and it should fix the problem. Ensure that your drivers are updated and direct all signal traffic to the input device that is shared throughout your system or simply reassign your "patchwork" through the main DAW as mentioned above.

i got digi 001 running on windows 7...
i left my xp on hard disk while installing win 7. it kept xp on folder windows.old folder. in control panel i saw digi as multimedia adapter wich system couldn't recognice. hit "change settings" -> driver -> update driver
used my old windows to search for driver. it found "Dalvin.sys" driver for adapter. installed that. after that windows recogniced digi 001.
downloaded "digidesign asio 6.11" driver installer for win-xp and ran it.
and bingo - it works!
in every step windows was complaining and asking do i want to do this. just yeah'd everything. as i just had a clean install of win 7 i just thought whatta heck i can install everything again if it would not work, but it did.

so in a nut shell:
1: install Dalvin.sys in control panel for digi 001
2: run digidesign asio 6.11 driver installer for win-xp

for me it worked but i absolutely take no responsibility if you mess your system with this! at least reaper got a sound out of it. i haven't tried to record anything yet. but asio settings seemed to work as they used to do in xp.
