I need to set the camcorder to default settings

There isn't a "manual" reset button on the camera. You access the rest to factory default settings in the menu options.

what is the model #?
Most netgear routers default to a username of "admin" and password is either " admin ", "password" or it is just blank. Those are the defaults unless someone changed it.
If you cant get in you can hold down the reset button on the back for 30 seconds (while it is plugged into power) and that will set it back to factory default settings then one of the above should work.

the camcorder is suppose to give you good result even on its default settings. try to reset it first by pressing and holding the reset button.(reset button is located in the panel where the lcd screen comes from. its a tiny hole and you can use any pointed object to press and hold it for 3 seconds. try recording again. if you're having a hard time looking for the reset button, try removing ll power source from the camcorder(battery and unplug it from walloutlet) then press and hold power button for 1 min.

You need to login to the router and go to the save/reload settings section.

You can reset this Wireless Access Point back to its default settings by clicking on Reset button, and then press OK button to confirm your decision. Note: you can also hold down the reset button on this Wireless Access Point’s panel for more than 10 seconds to reset its default settings back to factory default.

Try removing the battery and see if it changes back to the default settings.

hmmm, the only thing i can think of is to try the easy Q mode and see if it works ok , when it is in easy Q mode it puts the video camera at a default setting and you cant change any of the menu options until you take it out of easy Q.

Here is the link to the user manual for your camcorder if you need it; http://books.jvcservice.com/download/685826248/21964.pdf There does not appear to be a factory settings reset, however in the manual, all the settings and their preset values are listed. You could try removing all multimedia cards, battery, power supply and leaving the unit for around 3 months! (page 11) to discharge the internal memory cell, or if you feel competent to take the camcorder apart, you MAY be able to remove and replace this battery. Unfortunately I think the resets have to all be done individually, or take the camcorder to a service centre to see if they can discharge the internal memory cell - this is probably not a good idea, dependent on the exact tyoe of cell used.
