PDA e310, e330 or e740 together with Windows NT 4.0

Only if Toshiba have produced a rom, otherwise the short answer is no I am afraid. Looking throught the forums it seems it is not possible...

Try going to the website of your Operating System (ie, Windows, Mac, ect). I've only used Windows , butsee if you can download the Activesync software that you need there. The e740 was only available with Windows Pocket PC 2002, and will appearantly not sync to Vista PCs, however.
I will try to check back in a day or two, so let me know if this is of any help to you.

Are you using a headphone or the Pda's speaker?

The speaker could be damaged or disconnected - try connecting a headphone to the Pda to see if the sound works.

After that download and install Microsoft Active Sync from microsoft as linked below;

Are you sure your PDA supports Wifi through SD? I have only found information that suggests BlueTooth.
