I think it makes a fairly big difference. At least the B-300 does. I don't have any explicit before and after photos but I think I can find some that I have taken. I will post them later. Just to give you an idea, I was at a Baseball game in Baltimore (Orioles' vs. Phillies) and I could get photos of the players in the outfield with the B-300 that would have been difficult without it.

Yes they do make a lot of difference. Try using your digital zoom a bit - it's like that only without the image degradation (at least for a good lens). Use the search function on the forum. You'll find tons of information and examples. If by some chance you find a b300 for sale don't spend a lot of time deciding to by it - just get it.

Why does my Lumix FZ72 occasionally ask me to Please restart camera when using a DMW-LT55 teleconverter NOT in teleconverter mode?

When the lens (barrel) is obstructed in its free movements, not knowing you did put a heavy converter on it, it could sense that and asking for a reset. Also when it senses the lens is not in the position it was send to. Or when the camera has problems to focus correct. Don't think your camera is defect. Everything is functioning as it should.

I bought a kit with a Canon EF 75-300 f/4-5.6 lens with a Vivitar Series 1 2XMC4 AF teleconverter. I have a Canon 6D. The camera reads F00 when hooked up and says there is no lens attached.

The teleconverter lacks the electronics to communicate with the camera, or to let the lens communicate with the camera. You have to use the manual exposure mode and set the exposure yourself.

Will a quantaray AF LD 55-200mm lense work with a 2X teleconverter?

Well, this teleconverter would act as a magnifier to your lens. If you get a 2x teleconverter, it will double your zoom. so you'd then have a 110mm-400mm lens. The teleconverter is attached to your camera first, then the lens on to the converter. Make sure if you get a teleconverter that it's an autoteleconverter. Which means that it will allow you to still use autofocus. I would also make sure you get a name brand that has good glass because some converters will tint your images to a yellow ish haze that would require a whitebalance adjustment.

Just got a 2x teleconveter and need instructions for install and removal

Pretend the teleconverter is a camera, and mount a lens onto it. Then treat the lens and teleconverter as a single lens, and mount that onto the body. It effectively doubles the focal length, and robs you of two stops. Depending on the teleconverter and lens, you may or may not lose autofocus and metering capabilities.

Problem with digital concepts teleconverter

The SX1 has an amazing 20X optical zoom. The teleconverter will allow to get pictures if the camera zoom is not fully on 20X. It means that you can't get a full 40X zoom images, but a 30X maybe. I don't why canon has this problem.

Use of teleconvertres

Teleconverters are not recommended with variable aperture and slow zoom lenses. Since there is an additional element, the effective max. aperture will get reduced to about f/8-11. So it is not worth the money.

I just recently got a teleconverter lens for my canon s5 IS. I don't notice any appreciable difference between the 12X zoom and the teleconverter. The picture is slightly closer but not much. Also, I...

With a 12X lens, if you put a 1.5X converter on it, there will be very little visual difference in the magnefication.

With a teleconverter, the lens will lose some F stop, and the optical image will be a little less sharp.

Auto focusing problem

The D40 will only autofocus with the Nikkor AF-S lens...look for the AF-S in the lens title. For 3rd party lens, only SIGMA with the USM title will autofocus.

To use the T-adaptor...you will need to use the "Manual" mode of the camera.
