WiFi causes system freeze

Hi Christopher, If no Wi-Fi and you're trying to connect to your home Wi-Fi The password is on the back of the modem in the house, Write it down then go into your phone and tap "SETTINGS" and tap "CONNECTIONS", Then tap on "Wi-Fi" and make sure it's switched on(should be a slide switch there), Once switched on it should start scanning automatically for networks, but if not then there's a scan button there somewhere. When it finds the modem just tap on that WiFi setting and a small window opens for the password, Type in the pass word tap "OK" and you're connected... Try removing the battery for 30 seconds.

The switch slide snaps in - use a screwdriver and gently pry up on the bottom of the switch slide, there is a tab on either side that will release and it will come out - you will find 2 more housing screws behind it to remove the handle and replace the cord.
The switch will go back in top first and give the bottom a tap to snap it back in place.

Turn off background data

Minimize use of third party applications

1. From any Home screen, tap the All Appsicon.
2. Tap Settings.

5. Tap Disable to turn off the application.
   Note: You can tap Uninstall instead to completely remove the application.

Toggle from 4G to 2G

1. From any Home screen, tap the All Appsicon.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Tap Tethering & Networks.
4. Under 'NETWORK SETTINGS,' tap Mobile networks.
5. Select or clear the Use only 2G networks check box.

Update to the latest software

1. From any Home screen, tap the All Appsicon.
2. Tap Settings.
3. Scroll down to 'SYSTEM,' and then tap About phone.
4. Tap System updates.
5. Tap Check now.
6. Follow any additional prompts.

Set device to sleep when unused

1. Press and then quickly release the Power key to set the screen to sleep mode.
2. To activate the screen, press and then quickly release the Power key again.

Tap the Menu key and then tap Settings.

Tap the Wifi switch to On.

Tap Wifi (to the left of the Off/On switch).

A list of available networks will appear, tap the network you wish to connect to.

If prompted, enter the selected WiFi network's password, then tap Connect.

Your chosen network will now show Connected to let you know its all setup, also you will see the WiFi signal bar in the notifications panel at the top of your screen.

If it still turns off try different hot spots. That modle only gets G2 and G3 connections.

Tap a network.

You can follow this steps. Make sure that before you open you Wi-Fi settings, you are in the Wi-Fi Zone.

1. Click on the wi-fi icon in the menu [mostly in middle screen if you havent customised the menu items].
2. On the next screen it wud say 'Tap here to turn Wi-Fi on' and there wud be round button saying Wi-Fi.
3. Tap on that to switch on wifi.
4. Now on the bottom menu bar Click on Search
5. It will show u a list of wifi network available.
6. Click on the one u want to connect to [A menu pops up]
7. Click on Add in the menu
8. In the form enter the network key [password u need to connect to ur wifi]
9. Depending on ur other settings of you Wi-fi router, you may need to enter some details in the form
10. Once done, click Save
11. Now u r ready to connect.
12. Click on the network u want to connect to and click on connect.

That's right, there's a physical wifi switch for your Lenovo 3000 N100. It's located on the front panel of your machine. It should be toggled on the right side if you wanted to turn it on. If it's not working you might need to turn on it's wifi soft switch. All you have to do is to press the Fn + F5 button. In any case and still you will be encountering the same issue that wifi switch can't be turned on I will ask you to contact Lenovo so they can give you proper recommendation on how the wifi switch can be replaced.

There is usually either a button or a slide switch that controls if the wifi is on or not. It is marked with an icon that looks like a tower with two curved bars coming out of each side. Be sure that switch is set to "on". Secondly, you will see a small icon in your system tray (bottom right hand side of your screen) that looks like two little computer monitors. You need to click on that and have it search for wireless networks. Once you find your wireless router simply click on that router and click connect.
