That's not possible because the hot shoe is not provided for the Canon hot shoe. You can change some wires in the Canon flasunit to let it think is an Olympus model ;)

I broke a lens once and just went and bought a New / Used Bounce Flash that had a uneversal flash-boot. most cameras have a flash plug in to acommidate Auto Flash Modes.
If You Know how to test Cameras and Adjustable 'Bounce" flashes like yours PAWN SHOPS are a PARADISE.
Canon often won't sell replacement parts like this to consumers but you may get your local repair shop to order one for you or find a dead one on Ebay or Craigslist and use it for parts.
No. the Nikon and Canon flahses and camera speak different "languages" in TTL. So while the flash may fire once in a while, the TTL (Through The Lens flash metering) will not be compatible and the exposures will almost never correspond and synch up. Get a Nikon SB-900 flash.
That is correct. The camera should default and detect that a smartmedia card is now inserted to the camera and write the images to that card. As I stated earlier, the cards are independent of each other.
