I recorded videos at a concert with the new nikon coolpix L810 and the sound on the video is horrible. What is causing the noise in my video? sounds like wind is blowing or a crackling noise

The problem is the microphone on the camera. The mic on the camera is for recording sound in more normal environments. The sound level on a typical concert is much higher than normal, and the mic on the camera just doesn't have what it takes to record sound at those levels.

One possible solution is to record the sound with a dedicated audio recording device, and combine the video and audio in your video editing software.

In video rec ther is no sound

Actually, this camera has no sound recording. Does not have a mic or any sound recording mechanism at all. I used a mp3 music player and recorder to record the sound while recording images with the camera and bonded them together by video edition software.

I have just bought a vivitar x225 and it takes good video but no sound. Is it capable of recording sound as well as video?

No. The X225 is designed primarily as a still camera. While it can record video, it does not record sound. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on the camera.
