Let's deconstruct the question into its components.

Area of a square-shaped flower garden is 64 m2

Area = length x width
Square = length of each side of the rectangle is the same
Side x Side = 64
side ^ 2 = 64
side = sqrt (64)
side = 8

Length of the side of the walk 8 + 1.5 + 1.5 = 11

Area = 11 x 11
= 121 m2

Good luck,

Paul

SOURCE: The zigzag stitch will adjust width but not length

If it's a mechanical Bernina, it could be some of the lever mechanics have seized from old, dry oil. You can try liquid Tri-Flow Synthetic Oil--a couple drops where metal rubs on metal to see if it loosens things up. Applying hot air from a handheld hairdryer will help speed it up. The other possible alternative is that something is no longer attached to the knob/lever.

If it is a computerized Bernina, you should probably take it for service.

As a contestant on a televised game show, Anne gets to spin the big prize wheel, which has a diameter of 4 meters. What is the prize wheel's area?

to work out area of a circle you must use area = pi x R^2
Area = pi x Radius squared
Area = 22/7 x 2^2
Area = 88/7
Area = 12.571 metres squared (M with a little 2 next to right corner of M)
pi is 22/7= 3.1428571429 (rounded up) just use 22/7

With the radius of 3.5 inches and the height of 15 inches what is the square inches

It sounds like you are trying to determine the surface area of a cylinder.

The area of the top and the bottom of the cylinder (which are circles) are pi x r ^ 2. Since there are two of them, we have to multiply this answer by 2.

The surface area of the side is going to be the circumference of the circle times the height. The circumference is 2 x pi x r and the height is 15 inches.

To get the total surface area, we have to add these amounts together.

Good luck,

Paul
