Delonghi Pac-C110 air conditioner The compressor is overheating and shutting down but works fine when running. There is a slight squeaky noise when running that seems to come from the squirrel cage exhaust fan. Maybe fan bearings? It might not be running at full speed.

The overheating & squeaking may be a result of a blockage in the exhaust hose. Or the exhaust hose has to much of a downward slope. Also, try cleaning the air intake filter. It may be clogged.

I have a new Delonghi portable AC PAC N115EC (11,500BTU), is it normal for the compressor in this particular A/C to be cycling on/off every 2 to 3 minutes?

If the room is cool, it sounds like the unit is operating correctly. It could be short cycling because the unit is over sized for the room being conditioned. if you can, increase to size of the load by opening a door into another room. As long as the refrigerant pressures equalize from high to low side internally and the compressor doesn't start up under load, you should be fine

I just bought a used DeLonghi Pinguino PAC 02. It seems to cool ok but the exhaust hose gets very warm. Is that normal?

Yes, that is normal. It's exhausting the heat from the compressor out the window.

Compressor not turning on - but unit turns on and fan works - even when temp turned all the way down.

all the way down is as warm as the refrigrator can get. Sounds like start components are the problem.
