GR8! Thanks, I now am able to access the internet, however I can only turn on the wireless connection by using the icon in the task bar?? The blue light on the computer lights up as normal, however it is touch sensitive & should light up & activate wireless mode when toucheed - but doesn't do anything when touched!

Any ideas how to rectify this would be much appreciated.

Hi, I have the same problem, but on a HP Compaq 8510p notebook. Whenever I touch the sensitive touch panel a light comes up (except for the wireless button (wich does nothing) however nothing happens in windows anymore. I think it has something to do with a Windows Service I accidentally turned from Automatic boot mode to manual?

I've checked the HP site for updated drivers and I was using an older version so i'm gonna try and update now, BIOS aswell eventually.

Hp 6715b vga's to external display fine, but no internal display. Replaced display cable, inverter, and lcd is good, I know this as fact ! Still no display, HELP ?

Hi, First push your FN- and the F- button that has the display symbol it may be set to the external screen. Can you see anything on the screen if you hold a flashlight close to it? If so I would say your back light went out and will need to be replaced. If this is not the case, recheck your cable and make sure it is grounded properly.
Also check the sleep button, This should be located above the keyboard. Sometimes it gets stuck.

Power-on Password

b> If your HP Compaq 6715B laptop is lost or stolen, the power-on password can protect the valuable data on your computer. Even so, there may be times you'll want to clear that password and knowing the right procedure will make that easier. Once the power-on password is cleared, the Compaq 6715B will no longer require you to enter a password just to start up your laptop.

Shut down your Compaq 6715B and wait for it to power off. Press the "Power" button to restart the laptop. Tap the "F10" key after the Compaq splash screen appears. Wait for the setup menu to appear. Use the arrow keys to navigate to the "Security" menu and scroll down to the "Power On Password" option. Delete the entries in both boxes, then press the "F10" key. Choose the "Save Changes and Exit" option to exit the setup menu. Wait for the laptop to restart and verify that the laptop does not prompt for a power-on password. Hope this helps.

I installed a new vista on my 6715b and ever since my laptop have stopped showing available wireless connections, how do i solve this problem?

First, make sure that the drivers for wireless adapter are installed. If not, the drivers for vista are available from the following link.
HP 6715B Note Book Drivers
Visit this link from HP Official Support. Select the correct version of Operating System (Vista) and download the required Drivers.

Also, the computer has a wireless button, Press the wireless button to enable/ disable wireless. (If the wireless light is blue, wireless device is on. If the wireless light is off, wireless device is off)

Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Hope it helps! Good Luck!

Compaq presario m2000 blue wireless light doesn't

You should have re-installed the Driver for the Wireless Card, you can do that by going to Control Panel, than clicking on System and Maintenance, and than going to Back Up and Restore, go to Repair Windows using System Restore, you can re-install your Driver that way or go to www.hp.com and go to Support, enter your Model #, and you can re-download your Driver from there.

My bluetooth button stops working, how will i override it? coz i have my wireless assistant yet i can't enable it using that coz the bluetooth button is not on. My laptop is hp compaq 6715b

You could re-install the bluetooth driver..
Contact HP for the driver..
Or in the HP wireless Assitant.
You need to click on properties then you need to check all the options available and click on apply..
Then you will see the buttons to turn on/offf the bluetooth and the wireless in HP wireless Assistant main menu..
