I am unable to get any sound through the speakers although they appear to be OK. Do I need to download a connection again? I cannot get any sound from any source, I tunes, Email attachments, videos etc.There seems to be a problem with windows media. It just says it has encountered a problem.

First of all, check if there is any audio device connected to the receiver. If there is, check if the audio device is turned on and the volume is correctly set.If the receiver does not have any audio device connected, then you should connect the antenna and try again.

Audio is intergrated in most of the programs on a Windows XP-based laptop computer, especially those that play video games and movies. If the audio is not functioning properly, you need to troubleshoot the issue. Typically, this is a quick process that requires only a few different system checks to correct the problem.

1. Double-click the speaker icon in the lower right corner of the desktop. A window appears with all of the audio features. Make sure none of these are muted (uncheck the "Mute" box if you find some are), then turn up the audio on the different features. This ensures the audio is not turned down so you are unable to hear it.

2. Look to see if you have any headsets connected to the laptop. If there is something connected to the "Line Out" port of the laptop, no audio is going to play through the systems speakers.

3. Check that you have the laptop speakers selected as the device creating the audio for the Windows XP laptop. Click "Start," "Control Panel," then "Sound." Make sure the laptop speakers are selected (if not, click the audio playback pull-down menu and choose the laptop speakers), then click "Apply."

4. Download the drivers for the Windows XP laptop. If the drivers have been removed from the system, the computer is unable to produce any audio. Navigate to the laptop's manufacturing site, then choose "Support," "Downloads and Drivers," then enter in the model number of your computer, select "Windows XP" as the operating system, then choose the "Audio Driver" download. Once the drivers have finished downloading, double-click the file, follow the installation prompts of the driver wizard and click "Install" to install the driver. Once complete the laptop computer is ready to begin playing audio again.

Search for the word "balance". Page 8 again (circled 8)...

Lights when the Front Left and Right speaker outputs have been set to different levels in the OSD, i.e. a balance adjustment has been made.

You can look at the relative levels of all channels as described on Page 14.

I don't know what is the operating system you are using with your computer.Still we can check, first we need to find out if the problem is with the speaker or with the computer.

Try these steps

• connect those speakers with other computer check the sound, if you are getting sound there it means speakers are ok need to check computer audio setup and hardware.

• If you are not getting any sound connecting speakers with other computer then it is speakers need to replace.

Incase speakers are ok Disconnect the speakers

• restart the computer,check if there is windows sound if not
• right click on the volume control icon on the left hand button corner of the screen,uncheck the mute option.still not getting any sound?
• try to download the audio driver from the dell support site.still not getting
• need to check the internal speaker connection,if it is fine

• still you cannot hear the sound change the internal speaker.

OK so either your speakers are dead so check them although i don't think that's what it will be still worth checking or it could be there not connected properly but my guess would be that you have the wrong sound driver installed so uninstall it find out what motherboard you have can be found on the motherboard and then visit the manufactures website and there is normally a downloads section then search for your motherboard and download your sound drivers and install them again and make sure you select the right operating system also hope this has helped

It is not the speakers you need drivers for but the computer sound chip. Check out the motherboard makers website and download the driver for your particular motherboard. reboot and they should work OK. If not they are probably faulty

re-install drivers, if it works, ok otherwise check speakers on other system. if the speakers are ok, then the sound section of mother board might gone out of order, need an extra PCI sound card.

Hi during dowloading pictures need the camera knob to display or where you can view pictures and video. connect usb the detection will view on screen and follow screen instruction.

this is due to a faulty connection of your motherboard. did you recently changed anything in your motherboard like wire connection, RAM etc.
check out soon or else it might harm the computer....
