This is not normal. Either you are magnetic, or you have some kind of RF reflecting off you. Or something like that. This is strange to me.

This radio has swr meter

S.W.R == Standing Wave Ratio, this is a Relative measurement of the Amount of Power Going UP the Antenna, Versus the Amount of power being "Reflected" Down, the Antenna. This ratio, is displayed, as a reading on the meter. Also Often this SWR meter is dual used as an "S" Meter, this is used ti display relative signal levels from other transmitters. and is shown, as an "S" Scale. 0 - 9 on the meter.

Radio come on but do not recive or put out no sound

There is not enough information here to solve your problem but I can give you some places to start. Check your Mic something as simple as a broken ground wire could cause this. A quick check to see if the s meter is moving with signals could tell you if you have signal coming into the radio. Try another mic do some further diagnostics or seek professional help. There should be a CB shop around near you if not look for one at a truck stop.

My 2517 talks good after awhile on it it just drop out like dont have no mod but receive good let it cool it go back workin fine any idea? shows when this happens it shows on radio signal moving none on...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

On a MOSFET version of a Galaxy DX2517 and assuming stock mic, heat related issues of missing modulation would require initial checks of:
  • echo circuit - board EB-2000 EPT0SSB51J;
  • mic amp - IC7 NJM4558D;
  • AF power amp - Q53 to Q55.

Good luck and thank you for asking FixYa.

Galaxy 2547 Base Radio

Its Possible it just needs to be re calibrated. Are you also using an external meter to check your output. If not get an inline meter to verify that in actuality your system is fine regardless what the internal meter is saying.......Hope this helps.......

Information on how to use DX 45MP radio

The DX 45mp is a 10 meter radio meaning you need a license to use any other band other than the normal 1- 40 cb channels, its capable of going beyond the normal cb range.Ask if it has been converted to 11 meter. Channel E should be the normal if it has been converted from 10 meter to 11 meter. Im sure its been converted if its been used for a mobile cb application. Normal cb band is called 11 meter 26.965 mhz to 27.405 thats 1- 40 . Your not supposed to talk on the other bands unless you have an amature radio license but everyone does anyway . I have several galaxys and by far in my opinion are the best on the market. Go to on the home page go to Radio Informaion click it go to G and follow it to Galaxy DX radios youll find all the info for this radio you can even print out the channel chart to see where everything is. Good luck and if you have any more questions just ask. Thank you Chia
