I have sprint 595 air card and can not get acer extensa 4420 to recognize it. When I click on connect it times out and gives me an error. I went on sprint site to download aircard updates and that locked up my whole keyboard and touch pad. Had to do system restore to get out of it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Spent 2 hrs on phone with Sprint techs.
I have the same problem with AT&T aircard (sierra aircard) Had to resptore my acer extensa after it locked my keyboard. 3 hours with AT&T on phone still no resolution.I have the same problem with AT&T aircard (sierra aircard) Had to resptore my acer extensa after it locked my keyboard. 3 hours with AT&T on phone still no resolution.
Yes, i used the watcher with it. I also tried the verizon wireless aircard to no avail. I sent the sprint card back. Got the AT&T usb wireless and that works perfect. Has to be something with my notecard not wanting to play nice with their aircards. Verizon says its Microsoft or Acer. Acer says its not them as the notebook does recognize the card but it won't work after install.

The laptop must be dismantled to access the motherboard, buy a can of compressed air attach straw. Now remove fan and the heatsink, blow out all open ports and fins on the heatsink and fan, next! remove thermal grease from the processor and heatsink with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel, now! apply fresh thermal grease to the processor and heatsink, "small thin layer evenly spread" now assemble, "solves most heat related issues"
try updating the driver from Intel if ur WLAN card is from intel update to latest one see if it helps try changing roaming aggressiveness to lowest in the settings see if it helps , where u installed this wireless reciever is it a software or hardware
Well, I did the same thing, replaced vista with XP Pro, and couldnt get the wireless to work (the xp runs incredibly faster on this machine, B.T.W).
After days and days of trying to figure out this same problem, I finally found the driver. I found it at gateway...the link is here... http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?param=Wireless_Broadcom_4312_v4.170.25.12_XPx86&st=kw
Hope this helps all of you who did the same!
Peace...

The computer screen will not come on but the hdd light is active. Accer 4420/4120 extensa series/ just clicked on a computer because mine is not on the list
If I were you, I would let your windows manage your wireless network on the computer with vista. Also you might, If you haven't already tried using your install new programs in the control panel, As long as you have the sprint software downloaded in your laptop windows should still recognize the wireless connection, Try letting windows manage it from the Network properties and there should be an option there that lets windows manage you network. try it see if that helps you out. If not write back here and let me know we can try another route. Sorry you having problems.
