if u have a full version of Windows install disk with you then you can try to re-install the OS / repair the OS or
try to install another copy on another drive say D: or E: (if your disk has more than one partition C: D: E: etc) the windows is currently installed on C:
and if you can install another copy...great
then just when the computer starts chose a the new OS (just be aware that both will have Win2000 as listed there so just chose either...if the 1st chose one does not load the OS shut down and restart and cjose the next one....
once you have the windows working....
salvage all your citical data by copying to a CD/DVD disk/pen drive...and just reformat/del all aprtitiions/recreate partitions and reinstall windows in C: drive again...

Sometimes some virus can't be removed if they really infected some files, in that case, you better reinstall the windows (full format), but remember, during the backup or file transfer, don't simply copy/paste, instead use the wizard like "backup" or "Files and Settings Transfer"..

you may have registry errors, mainly computer freezes because of registry errors, or you have virus on your pc scan it , download registry cleaner reginout to solve ur issue

The version of driver is citical - if the scanner has Win7 drivers available use those, if not then it's not supported. If you have Pro or Ultimate you could try running setup with compatability mode.

A 'small leak doesnt exist! especially with a citically charged unit such as your refrigerator! a oz will make it run terrible if even low by that amnt! most fridges with leaks are junk!
