Hi, I have a casio e-100 pocket pc and it was working fine with my win98 pc but I got rid of it and when I tried setting it up on my win2k machine it just dosent see the pocketpc...... I went through the installation steps on the instructions exactly but it dosent work. I have the same baud rate on my desktop and pocket pc but it still dosent see it. I kind of want to get it working soon because my parents got me a Pharos GPS for it and I cant install it without it being able to be synced.
Try the newest ActiveSync version: http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/poc...ctivesync36.asp . Otherwise, check the configuration settings for the COM port to which your device connects. Is it set to 115kbps / 8 data bits / 1 stop bit / no parity / hardware flow control? Also, on your E-100, set the PC connection being used for ActiveSync to "´Serial @ 115k". Hope this helped, cu D2k
I have been using AS 3.1 on XP for over 6 months now without any hitch. You would need newer version only for better support on USB connected devices. I have also connected an E-200 on the same machine without any problems. You just might have a problem with your serial port. You would be having 2 on your machine. Try switching to the other . There are 2 things to look for on Win2K. Have you check marked the Com option in Active Synch ? You may have to go through Control Panel to look for additional hardware since unlike Win98 & Xp if I remember correctly Win2K does not look for new hardware when it starts up.
Try downloading the newest syncware and installing that. I know that only the latest version works for XP, I don't know what w2k does....
