SOURCE: CANT IMPORT SIM CONTACTS AFTER IPHONE 3.0 SOFTWARE UPDATE

The problem is, for whatever reason, the new iPhone firmware does not allow special characters to be imported onto the new phone.

So the only solution is to:
Get a different phone.
Put your SIM card into that phone.
Access your phone book from said phone.
Delete any contact using characters other that A-Z. This includes !@#$%^&*() And the like.

Once deleted just pop your SIM card back into your iPhone and import. It should now work.

What's your problem?how do i transfer contacts from a samsung sgh-a847 to a iphone 4

With regard to transferring Samsung contacts to iPhone, you can choose various ways to complete this task. Just follow one of the methods shown below.

Using SIM card Directly

If the Samsung users haven't cut their SIM card for iPhone yet, they can take advantage of the SIM card to transfer contacts from Samsung to iPhone. Samsung users need to go to their Contacts app and choose Export Contacts to SIM. Then the contacts can be transferred to the SIM card. Now users can cut the card and install it in iPhone, and go to Settings > Mails, Contacts, Calendars, and scroll down to find Import SIM Card Contacts. Now you are able to import the contacts from SIM card to your iPhone.

How do i transfer mobile numbers from sim to samsung galaxy

I suppose you are running Gingerbread (Android 2.3), right? If so, go to the contacts application (it is a tab in the phone dialer application). With the contact in the foreground, tap 'Menu > Import/export', and under the 'Import contact from:' title, select 'SIM card'.
Otherwise, i.e. if you are running previous releases, (Froyo or Eclair), if I'm not mistaken, there was an application called something like 'Manage SIM card', which had that same functionality.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out soon.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can assist you any further.

How can i import contacts from another phone using no internet and no sim. i have all my contacts saved on my memory card. My old phone is HTC Wildfire and the new one is Motorola defy.

You see, I'm running Gingerbread 2.3.4 on my Defy for some time now, and I'm sorry for not being able to remember how it is done under Eclair or Froyo, but in Gingerbread, the Contacts application is a tab on the dialer one. Anyway, in the Contacts tab, if I go to 'Menu > Manage contacts', there are settings for exporting/importing contacts to/from the SD card. When exporting, a vcf file is generated in the SD card. When importing, a vcf is searched. So, for compatibility matters, I think you should use the Wildfire to export all your contacts, remove the SD card from the Wildfire, insert it into the Defy, and import your contacts from that file.
Hope it works for you.
Anyway, please, let me know if I can help you out any further.
Regards, Carlos

How do i access or copy my sim contacts from the sim to the phone?

Actually, you can import contacts from SIM to iPhone with simple steps. Just follow below guide.

iPhone doesn't store contacts on the SIM card. If you want to transfer contacts between iPhones, you can use iCloud to backup or transfer content between devices. When it comes to import contacts from SIM card to iPhone, users will only need three simple steps.
  1. Remove the SIM card from the old phone, and install it on your iPhone.
  2. Your iPhone may need to reactivate. If so, connect to iTunes.
  3. Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Import SIM Contacts.
  4. Wait for the import to complete.
  5. If you swapped SIM cards in step 1, remove the SIM card and replace it with your iPhone SIM card.
  6. Open Contacts and make sure that the contacts imported.

The contact information imported from a SIM card depends on how your previous phone stored information on the SIM card. For more help with importing contacts from a non-Apple phone, check the manufacturer's website, app store, or contact your carrier. After doing this, you will get the contacts in your iPhone. Transferring contacts from SIM card to iPhone is easy to be done when users have a suitable SIM card with iPhone. But if the SIM card cannot be recognized by iPhone, what should the users do to import contacts from SIM card to iPhone?

Power cycle the phone first as sometimes it has problems finding the sim contacts if you insert a sim while the phone is already on. Then:Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>Import Sim Contacts (near the bottom)

Cannot import contact from sim card to iphone 3G

Turn off the iPhone before inserting the sim, insert sim, turn on, import contacts. If you put the sim in the phone without restarting it for some reason it doesn't get all the contacts sometimes.
