The machine automatically starts at 3h 20m (the length of time for white bread) but when I press 'reset' to bring time up to 4h 28m (required for whole wheat), it won't start mixing until I reset back to 3h 20m. Am I not using the right sequence...i.e., reset, select, up-down, start?

If you have a B. Crocker bcf1690 machine you need to just plug it in and it will always default to the regular bread program. To change it to whole wheat you need to press the Menu button until the whole wheat program shows on the display ( #3) according to my manual if you go past it just keep pushing the menu button until it comes back around again to #3. then just push the start button.

How do I turn off the delay timer? When I set it up, the timer automatically sets it on a 3 hour delay. I have moved the up & down arrows but it won't set at 00:00 unless I unplug it. Then I set...

No offense intended but you need to step away and read the instruction manual step-by-step. One point I can make: The three hours you're seeing in the display when you first plug the unit in are simply telling you how long the default white bread mode is going to take to complete. It's merely a counter that counts down so at any time you glance over at the machine you'll know how much longer it's going to be before the bread is finished. The digital display has NOTHING to do with the delay timer until you start pressing delay timer arrows.

Hope this helps!

Bread machine model TR520, mixes the dough, stops for a long time, then starts mixing the dough again continuously without starting the bake cycle. This was on the french program. The machine is new...

By continuously do you mean forever, non-stop kneading? I'm guessing not. French bread is really nothing more than white bread dough kneaded for an extra long time. The extra kneading creates the chewyness common to French breads.

Hope this helps!

I have a convection bread maker. I made one loaf of bread tonight and i unplugged the machine. 30 minutes later, I tried to make a second loaf ant the menu select wouldn't work but the start and mix in...

Cuisinart has many different bread machine models. Next time you ask a question, please include a model number. Thank you.

Here's my generic best advice for you dear:

Addressing Power-up/Start-up Issues:

1. Unplug the breadmaker.

2. Confirm the power source you're accessing is live using a blender, toaster, etc.

3. Plug the breadmaker in.

4. Confirm the breadmaker is receiving power:

    1. Some models have a built-in off/on toggle power switch. Turn it to the ON position.
    2. Some models confirm power by making and audible tone when plugged in.
    3. Some models have a colored light and/or a lighted display screen that lights up.
    4. Some models require you press and hold the Select button down until the unit powers up.
    5. Some models require you press and hold the Start button down until the unit powers up.
    6. Some models require you select a mode first by pressing the Select button.
    7. Some models require you press and hold the Stop button down until the unit powers up.

Were you able to confirm that your breadmaker is receiving power?

No. Sorry to hear that. Attempt to have the breadmaker serviced by a small appliance repair facility or simply discard it.

Yes, Fantastic! Now reboot the breadmaker's electronics by pressing and holding down the Stop button down until you receive a visible and/or audible confirmation, usually within 1 to 5 seconds. Note: Some models require you press and hold the Start button. Others require you press and hold the Select button.

Often the + and - Timer Delay buttons are pressed by mistake, delaying Start by up to 12 hours. If you suspect the Timer Delay feature has been engaged accidentally, you'll need to reboot the breadmaker's electronics.

All breadmaker use a belt and pulley system. If your breadmaker powers-up but the mixer won't turn when it's supposed to, your belt is probably broken. You'll need to disassemble the breadmaker to visually confirm.

West Bend Bread Maker model 41056 does not start. When machine is plugged in, LED displays a time but buttons do not work and red light does not go on. (Pan was in machine and anchored.)

Power-Up/Start-Up Issues:

  1. Unplug the breadmaker.
  2. Confirm the power source you're drawing from is live using a blender, toaster, etc.
  3. Plug the breadmaker in, unplug it, then plug it in a second time.

    1. Some models have a built-in off/on toggle power switch. Be sure it's turned on.
    2. Most models confirm power by making an audible beep when plugged in.
    3. Most models have a colored light and/or a lighted display screen that lights up.
    4. Most models require you press down on the Stop button until the unit powers up.

E. Some models require you press down on the Start button until the unit powers up.

F. Some models require you press down on the Select button until the unit powers up.

G. Many models require you select a baking mode by pressing the Select button before the pressing the Start button.

Q: In the end, were you able to confirm your breadmaker is receiving power?

No. Sorry to hear that. Have it serviced by a small appliance repair shop or simply discard it.

Yes. Fantastic! Now reboot the electronics by pressing down on the Stop button for 1 to 5 seconds. Note: A few models require you press down on the Start button instead. And even fewer require you press down on the Select button instead.

Often the + and - Delay Timer buttons are pressed by mistake, delaying Start by up to 12 hours. If you suspect this handy feature has been engaged accidentally, you'll need to reboot the breadmaker's electronics. See reboot directions above.

Note: All breadmakers use a belt and pulley system. If your breadmaker powers-up but the mixer won't turn during the kneading cycles, your timing belt is probably broken. You'll need to disassemble the breadmaker to visually confirm. The belt and pulley assemblies are located at the bottom of your breadmaker.

Need manual for jmb hb250 breadmaker and recipes

Using the JMB HB-250 Bread Maker
Those of you who have acquired the HB-250 bread-maker without a manual may require some advice on how to get started. I do not have a user or service manual but have used this machine for some time.

How to load the tin.
For this bread-maker to work flawlessly it is best to load the ingredients in the following order: A basic bread recipe is included as an example:

First Liquids. 300ml water
Second Flour. If you aerate it so much the better. 500grams
Third Ingredients in each corner:
salt / butter / milk powder (if desired) / sugar.
1 tps salt / 15 grms butter / 2 tps mik powder / 1.1/2 tps sugar
Fourth Yeast. Make an indentation in the centre of the flour and tip in the
contents of the sachet. Sachet is 7 grms.

You are ready to go. You can get loads of recipes by trawling the web.

Operation.
This is a very simple machine and it gets the job done without complications. It is what it is without all the bells and whistles. You must observe the cooking times because it is no good starting a whole-wheat loaf at 3:0pm hoping it will be ready for 5:0pm
There are six selections to choose from: Basic, W.Wheat, Sweet, French, Cake, and Dough. The approximate time cycles for each of the selections is as follows:
  • Basic 190min 3h 10m
  • W.Wheat 230min 3h 50m
  • Sweet 200min 3h 20m
  • French 210min 3h 30m
  • Cake 85min 1h 25m
  • Dough 75min 1h 15m
  1. Plug the unit into the wall socket and switch on. A long beep is heard and the green indicator above the ON/OFF switch is illuminated.
  2. Using the Select button press and choose the method for your bread. A green indicator will show you which selection you have made.
  3. Press the On/Off button to start the bread-maker. The chosen selection indicator will start flashing
Note: Once started the machine will continue to the end of the cycle.

Stopping the Bread-maker. To switch OFF or reset the operation press and hold the ON/OFF button until the machine resets and the selection indicator stop flashing. The machine is now in its OFF position. If required you can re-select a program or just switch off.

W. Wheat Selection - Using this selection the machine appears to do nothing when switched on. It will take 30 minutes before you hear the machine in operation. Do not assume it is not working it is. The heater slowly increases the working temperature required by the ingredients.

Once cooking starts - don't be tempted to lift the lid to see what is happening. Buy a high-powered LED torch and view the workings through the window on the top of the machine. Opening the lid destroys the internal temperature; this will cause your bread to deflate.

Adding extras: If you want to add fruits or olives etc to your loaf; wait until 8 beeps is heard then add. This will be approximately half way through the proving cycle

End of cycle: The Morse code for VICTORY (as 3 sets of dit dit dit dah.) is heard.
