My software scanner shows me Video initialize error, i have win7 64 bits, and have installed smarthru3 for 32/64 bits, can you help me please? Regards!

You appear to have 32-bit software that you're trying to install on a 64-bit computer... and the installer refuses to finish installing. You'll need to contact the manufacturer to get an updated copy of that software... or find an older 32-bit computer to use for that software.

Possible that a reset might help. It is worth trying to re-install.Shut down PC system and restart with the printer removed , then install the driver software and on completion connect the printer-hardware- to be installed.Test and see if it works or else you might need help from HP support.Check this link : http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/support-drivers.html

In most cases the printer/scanner driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer/scanner from the PC and uninstall the driver software. Now reinstall the driver software and then connect the Printer/Scanner ONLY WHEN PROMPTED, to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now a alignment test must be done with a print out and a scan as it will seet to optimum settings.

If there is no response then the scanner has errors in the optical system/motherboard and will need an estimation.

A scanner motor error has occurred.
Scanner motor rotation is verified at the initialization of a print job.
1. Verify that the scanner motor connector and the ribbon cable from the ECU are firmly seated on the laser/scanner assembly.
2. Verify that the scanner motor connector is firmly seated in connector J402 on the ECU. You might have to remove the main cooling fan to see this connection.
3. Verify that the ribbon cable installed in connector J403 on the ECU is fully seated.You must remove the ECU in order to verify this connection.
4. If the message persists, replace the laser/scanner assembly.

Pre-Installation Steps

• Log onto PC with an account that has Administrative Privileges.
• Disconnect ScanSnap scanner, if connected.
• Close any open applications.
• Install ScanSnap Manager, ScanSnap & CardMinder software from the ScanSnap Setup CD-ROM.
  
  • Upon reboot of the installation you may receive an error message stating, “Failed to initialize driver module.” Please disregard and continue.

ScanSnap fi-5110EOX Vista Update Pack Installation Steps

1. Download the fi-5110EOX Update Packs (Vista 32-bit Support)
   
   1. ScanSnap Manager V3.0 – ssv3020up.exe
   2. CardMinder V2.0L10-V2.0L11 – cm2012.exe
2. Install all two update packs that were downloaded in Step #1.
   
   1. Reboot is NOT required after each update pack.
3. Reboot the PC after all three update packs installed completely.
4. Connect ScanSnap Scanner via USB, open lid, let Windows Vista install the new hardware.

first decide on which particular operating system you want to use use the scanner. Then try to install tyhe drivers. If on both check for the architecture as well 32 bit or 64 bit. Initially uninstall alln the entries for the scanner from add and remove programs or delete all the entries using microsoft cleanup utility tool. Then try installing the drivers it should work.

Make sure that the computer you are using meets the criteria for the program with both the operating system and hardware. If so, try un-installing the camera software and then re-installing it. Beyond this, the problem can become a little complicated and require you to call the tech support from Nikon. They should know what it required to make their program function properly.

I have a MacBook Pro - a year and a half old - and recently upgraded to Leopard, which caused all sorts of problems with my HP 8160 photosmart (which worked pretty well before that).  I downloaded the necessary drivers/softward from HP for Leopard and it worked okay - but than I also started getting the "scanner cannot be initialized" messages (doing scan all wireless).  Anyway, all I did was go to applications, drag the HP softward to the trash and then went back to the HP site and downloaded the software and drivers again, and ran through the simple installation process again and now my scanner works again. Don't know why - but saw the suggestion on another site and it worked for me.  Here is the link to the HP site for software/drivers - select your operating system and it will direct you to the right page.
