Samsung syncmaster 912T disply will disapear. moniter still on just not getting info from cpu. after it is on for and hour somtimes it will not show display

Your description suggests the fault is with the screen, not the system. Can you you test that by connecting both screens to a buddy's computer?

When first powers up display is fine suggests a bad solder joint, revealing itself after heating up.

"Not Optimum Mode","Recommanded Mode 1280

FIXED : Before you start your legacy game, software where the "Recommanded Mode 1280 x 1024 60Hz" keeps showing, change your display FROM VIDEO CARD DISPLAY control application to 1024x768 or your choice.

My Syncmaster 2233 had same problem of "Not optimum mode" box coming on whenever I started any old game like Age of Empires etc. It got fixed by selecting FROM DISPLAY CARD DRIVER CONTROL UTILITY's (mine from Catalyst Control Center) >Set desktop area to > 1024 x 768 in my case BEFORE STARTING old application/game. Switch back to your normal resolution after you are done with this application.

Hope this helps.
