Question about JVC KD-SX770 CD Player

I cannot tune the radio to lots of local stations , most of them with even frequencies (such as 88/0, 91.8, 104.0 etc. The tuner stops only at odd numbers and at only selected stations. It is also very hard or even immpossible to fine tune manually (therefore it did not help me)

The only thing I could find in the manual that might possibly solve this problem, is a "reset".

From the manual:

Press the reset button on the
panel holder. (The clock setting
and preset stations stored in
memory are erased.) (See page
2.)

i tried it and it did not worl for me.

the CD does not work as well - it just requesting to eject the CD.

The DEH-P7900BT is almost identical to the DEH-P85BT sold in Europe.

This is a US model and will tune most AM/FM stations in the UK/Europe. The FM broadcast band is 87.8 to 108.0 MHz. so it will not pick up any FM stations outside this range. Also, the tuning is in odd increments (such as 96.1, 96.3, 96.5, etc.) so some stations with even frequencies will be slightly distorted, depending on the power of the signal the station generates.

I found this bit of info for you but ill keep looking and let you know what i find out.
Also have you tried it in europe to see if it does work or not let me know ok

How to change tuner to pick up all frequence's eg: goes from 95.5 to 95.7 how do i get it to change to 95.6 thanks jason

It will only tune into odd numbered stations because US radio station only broadcast in odd number stations (ex 95.5,95.7,96.3). You can change the area. Area 1 is North America, Area 2 is other areas. Press "Menu"->"Setup"->"Tuner"->"Tuner Area", then select 1 or 2. After setting, press and hold "Menu" for at least 2 seconds. This may give you the frequency you are looking for.

Fm touner act only on odd number like 104.1- 104.3

factory radios only tune into odd numbers... radios stations broadcast on odd numbers to avoid some frequency interference... ive only see a few aftermarket radios that tune to even numbers also

Hello ashton_dunn, Stations in the US only transmit on the odd frequencies. And most of the receivers sold in the US will only tune odd frequencies. Hope this helps.

AM radio tuner set as MW tuner. How to switch to U.S.A. AM mode?

AM is just another name for MW. The Radio should tune to a strong signal regardless of the frequency the radio is set to. It should also sweep the entire frequency looking for stations. I'm assuming it has a channel scan setting, plus options to set a number for the station. AM/MW are very much dependent on the position of the either internal or external Ariel. If you have the radio in the wrong position or you have some electrical equipment nearby it could block the signal for the station you want, but not affect the others. Which might explain why it can't find the station you want.

Very weird Radio Tuning Problem

This is a USA model and by default in the USA all FM stations end in an Odd number. This is completely normal. you can try holding preset 1 and 5 down while pressing the reset button on the unit and it may allow you to switch to a Europe style of tuning.
