You said when if the game starts the controller goes off.try holding the sync button on the wii console for 15-20 seconds then resync all controllers. If it doesn't work try this:Start the donkey kong game then press the home button then go to the wii remote settings it has an icon of a remote then after you enter it find the reconnect then press 1-2 simultaneously to select who is the first player. If it doesn't work try resynchronizing it as the first controller.Hope this helps.
First, make sure the 2nd controller is paired with your Wii. Then make sure you're in 2 player or co-op mode. I think when I played it all we had to do was turn on a 2nd controller and Donkey Kong automatically added the 2nd player in.
Is your DSi and Donkey Kong both from the same region? If your system is not from North America but the game is, then Donkey Kong will not work . I know that almost all the other games are region free, but for some reason Donkey Kong does not seem to be that way system. I have an Australian DSi and this is the one game that I cannot get to work, tried multiple copies.
establish your first 'New Game' using only one remote.
restart game
Select a file to use.
Select
"2 Players" and a screen will prompt you to sync your second remote.
Press and release the A button on the second Wii Remote and you should
be set to go.
Waiting to try it, but people are saying to get into the multiplayer mode first, and when the menu pops up that tells you to connect the second remote, either go to the home menu and 'reconnect', or use the red sync buttons on the controller and wii console.
