Cannot get lcd screen to work-it's white seems the graphic flex cord is lose or bad

Hook a spare monitor to the video output to ensure there is no problem with the video card, if okay! the lcd display in the laptop is the issue. If the flex cord is loose reseat it back into the motherboard plugin it should be good and tight to work properly.

Hi i have problem with my lenovo g550 ...after turning on ...the screen is white...could be a screen tape?

Welcome to Fixya

Try to perform power drain to the system. Take out the battery and unplug the power from the wall. Press and hold the power button for 15 secs. Plug in the power afapter then trun on the computer.

If same thing will happen, try to use external monitor and connect it to your laptop. If still no display then the problem is the onboard video card. If you get a display using the external monitor then the problem is the LCD. Could be loose flex cable inside.

Thank you for using Fixya!

Lenovo G550 laptop boots with a white screen??

Welcome to Fixya

Sounds like you already have LCD problem. Try to test the issue further. Use an external monitor and plug it to your laptop. If you get a display using the external monitor then the problem is the LCD. If there is no display coming out then the problem is the motherboard.

Brand new lenovo g550 laptop when switched on for the first time didn't display anything on the screen. What's the solution to that? Please help. The processor is running but totally nothing is...

If you have a seperate monitor, turn the laptop off and plug in the monitor to the VGA out on the laptop (somewere on the side of the laptop will be this output). The reason for this is it will make the next steps easier.

Turn the laptop on, you will hopefully get a display from the other monitor. If not you can still proceed, but it will be in the "dark". On the laptop somewere around the Ctrl key, you should find an fn key. If you look at the laptop keyboard you will see small symbols in the same color as this key (usually blue or grey). Look for one with monitors on it, Levnovo's website says that it is the F7 key. Pressing and hold down the fn key, now press the F7 key that has the monitors on it. This should switch between onboard and external and both. release the key and see if either monitor displays. Since laptops alter in the way this key works, you may have to press the F7 key more than once to get the display to switch the display.

More information on this procedure can be found on Lenovo's website:

I hope this is of some help to you.

Blue thin line on lcd screen.G550 lenovo

HI.

There can be two reasons why this could happen.
1. The LCD screen might have gone bad.
2. or, There might a problem with your video driver.

To rectify,
If you have an external monitor, you can connect that to the laptop & toggle the display, so that you can see if the display is fine on the other computer.

Hope this helps..
Cheers!! Have a nice day!!!

Lenovo G550 (2958-ACU) the display is scrambled/folded

Your computer uses Onboard graphics(Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 4500MHD) which means the GPU is embedded into the motherboard. The problem is most likely to be the GPU as you have predicted. If your laptop is under warranty you should push for a replacement as opening it will void your warranty. However if its out of warranty then you will need to remove the keyboard to access it. Check for bad connectors from the video card. Unplug the connectors wipe them with a cloth and then plug them back in. Power up and see if it resolves the issue.
NOTE: TO AVOID DAMAGING THE BOARD COMPONENTS WITH ESD AN ESD WRIST STRAP IS MANDATORY FOR THIS FIX .

Hope this helps,
Sai.
