A small crack has appeared at the top of my sony a350's LCD, this has brought a large 'ink' spot to the crack and has also made 80% of my screen completely white. Could you please describe the problem to me and approximately how much it will cost to repair if i send it off?
Thanks.

A large black spot usually means the LCD screen is damaged. It may have fine cracks around the black spot. In this case the LCD screen needs to be replaced. A replacement screen maybe available for your laptop from this WEB site. LCD screens and Inverterswww.lcdparts.net
It sounds like you cracked the screen. If it is cracked, you cannot fix it. Your only options are to replace the screen (BIG $$$) or buy a new set. If you can email me a pic of the TV I can tell you for sure if the screen is cracked. LCD screen are very thin, about as thick as a dime and it doesn't take much to crack them.
That is not an ink spot, that indicates the LCD panel is cracked and the "ink" is the liquid parts of the "liquid crystal display" LCD that is coming out from the broken glass. When you have a broken LCD panel you just need to get a new monitor, the panels are not repairable and to replace one will cost almost as much as a new monitor.
Call HP to determine if the unit is still in-warranty, and they will be replacing it. Otherwise, you may have to upgrade it through their Out-of-Warrranty programs.
If this projector is an LCD (liquid crystal display), your LCD probably gone. This usually happens after a period of time with an LCD projector.Try cleaning the LCD or take it to your Sony dealer.

Sorry, but there is no cheap method of repair for this unless it is in warranty.
This TV will require replacement of the LCD Prism unit.
This Prism blocks and allows colors so that the 3 LCD images may be mixed to produce the final image you see on the screen. When this becomes damaged or defective, it leaks colors (light). This Color Leakage apears as spots on the screens.
Where you see the spots is where the specific spot on the prism that is leaking light, the specific color that is leaking also.
This parts cost alone is normally $500 to $1000 dollars but is usually replaced under warranty.
