Question about JVC Cybercam GR-D200US Mini DV Digital Camcorder

1 Answer

Camcorder video transfer formats

I have a new JVC miniDV digital camcorder with what looks like 3 methods of video transfer to a computer. Given i have one more purchase to go (unit, bag, tape, battery,DVDburner, cable?), does anyone know which cable would work best? There's SVideo, IEEE 1374, and standard W/R/Y RCA plug ports. Is it just about speed or is one superior in video/audio quality? Thanks

The IEEE 1374 is the way to go. It is fast, and it is digital. Therefore, the video and audio will not be degraded in the transfer. The others are analog interfaces.

How can I transfer from my JVC GR-FXM40EK to PC?

JVC GR-FXM40EK is analog camcorder that can not be connected directly with computer because computer needs digital video format to save the file so connect USB 2.0 Video Capture Device in computer and plug camcorder AV wires in that device that will digitize the AV signals of analog camcorder and computer will save it in your selected folder on hard disk.
Hope this will help.

How to transfer sony dcr-hc26 videos to pc using usb cable thanks

The Sony HDR-HC26 is a miniDV tape based camcorder. No surprises if you can't get USB streaming working.

ALL miniDV tape based camcorders transfer DV-format video by conneting the DV port of the HD camcorder to the Firewire port of your computer. USB won't work. The "DV" in miniDV = Digital Video. It is as digital as the digital video from flash memory or hard disc drive or DVD based camcorders - only better because it is not compressed as much as the others.

Memory cards are not the only way to store digital video - and while not as good as miniDV tape, memory cards are not as bad as DVD based consumer camcorders...

Firewire IEEE1394, DV and i.LINK are all the same thing.

If your computer does not have a firewire port, hopefully it has an available expansion slot (PCI for desktops; PCMCIA or ExpressCard for laptops), so you can add one.

Transferring video from JVC to computer

Does the Camcorder show as a new drive in your 'My Computer' list of drives? Ie C drive D drive and possibly a weirdly named one is the one you're after. You should be able to find the videos in the folders contained on that new drive. Trouble finding it? Open mycomputer with it unplugged, then plug in camera like you're going to download stills, and watch for a new drive to appear. You will have to look through out the folders until you find the videos :o) Hope this helps you,

JVC gr-270 drivers

Try www.driverguide.com look up JVC miniDV USB. There are many drivers, you just need to try until you get one that works. USB will only transport over still pics, you need firewire for video transfer.

How to connect my jvc mini dv camcorder to my computer without the disc

you have not mentioned which model JVC camera you have bought, any ways, if it has with both memory card and minidv cassette facility, then you require a fire wire card to transfer cassette contents, and for stills on card insert the card to the slot and then connect it to the computer through USB cable, then the computer will recognise your camera.
