Microdrives that are integrated with other products may not work in EVERIO. JVC recommends using only Microdrives from JVC or retail versions of Hitachi Microdrives (2GB and 4 GB).

Your internal microdrive is probably playing up. You can either get a new microdrive (can be found in old ipods) or a CF card (sandisk CF ultraII work) or buy a new one.
maybe your problem is the microdrive that Rio Carbon have... mine also have the same problem and now is still seraching for cf card exchange for the microdrive
The microdrive is probably broken. Some people have claimed that if you give the sides a sharp tap then it has worked again but if this doesn't work then you probably require a new player. I have managed to replace the microdrive with a CF card in my Rio carbon, this has worked for many people may not work for you (you can read this: Replace broken hard drive with CF card if you want to try)
I removed the back of my Rio Carbon, removed the microdrive and inserted the CF card, formatted and added the firmware. It's that easy! The hardest part is removing the back of your Carbon
The microdrive is bad. You'll need to buy another player, since its too expensive to buy the microdrive; it costs more than half what the player costs.
The microdrive is bad, but you should just buy another player since its too expensive to buy the microdrive; it costs a little more than half what the player costs.
