Hi,
If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

you have a bad motor,most likely.

I would suggest that you check the heater and thermostats, these are located behind a removeable cover at the rear of the dryer.
You will need a meter to test them with, you are checking for continuity

You will find the thermostats located at the rear of dryer.
Remove cover, and you will see them adjacent to the heater element, change them both, even if only 1 is faulty.

There is a thermal fuse at the back that you must check. The thermal fuse can be tested using a multimeter.
If the fuse is ok, then check the heating element , the temp probe, wiring harness to heating element and temp sensor, and if there is nothing in there , then test control timer board.


Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts. (here in UK).

Remove the lint filter at the front bottom left of dryer, and run water through it to clean all the fluff out. Clean the other filter, and make sure the air vents air clear.
Before you replace the bottom filter reach inside the opening and remove any build up of fluff and gunge that you can ,get a plastic bag tie or similar and feel for and poke clear a small hole that is located there.
I f it still does not work, then the element and or stats are probably faulty.

how many fuses are there in a hotpoint tumble dryer CTD00 aquarius I know one is in the plug is there another one if so where is it?

sounds like a thermostat fault, there is two on these machines and although only one will be at fault both should be replaced
