It is possible to change menus and basic controls to english - you have to install a windows add-on software (that changes your keyboard layout and local settings. Try http://www.penreader.com/company/productmap.html Their Language Extender product should do the job - however, it's not free.

CHANGE LANGUAGE FROM GERMAN TO ENGLISH

Well, I would think there would be a language selection somewhere. So probably the easiest thing to do would be to go to the main menu of the phone (hopefully that is pretty easy to fine even if you don't know how to read German) and go to an online translator and type in the different options and translate them and just kinda keep looking around and doing that until you find the language settings and switch it to English. Might be kind of tedious, and if there turn out not to be language settings (i would assume there would be though) then might not help at all. But it's the only thing I can think of. Hope that helps.

Help IrDA WOES!!

Check the PC connection setting on your EM-500 for IrDA connection. You will also have to change the speed settings to match that on the PC. You should have "IR activesynch" icon under start - programs -connections. Tap on this to connect through the IR port.

Cassiopia EM500 sync issue

First of all ensure that the port selected on the EM-500 for PC connection is the same as your actusl connection - i.e. USB or serial. There were some problems with the EM-500 cradle which would not allow communication to be established between the PDA & the PC/Laptop. Contact Casio for rectification. It is done free of charge.

Targus keyboard installation

The problem is most likely with the driver being for an older MIPS processor (like the one in the Casio E-100). Where did you obtain this keyboard. Targus did not really support the EM500 when the keyboard came out. Now, they don't at all. Email Targus www.targus.com or Stowaway www.thinkoutside.com for a new driver.

Connecting to a Linux machine

Have you ever heard of wine? You can install wine for free and see if the program that allows you to interface the device to a PC will work. There also could be some linux programs that will allow you to connect your pocket PC to your PC.

Can't connect EM500 to my laptop computer

It sounds like you are using two different types of USB connections, one for the iPAQ and the other for the Casio. What operating system is running on the laptop? How many USB ports are there? You might have to reboot when you want to change from one USB connector to the other. If you have two USB ports, always connecting a USB connect to the same port (iPAQ #1, Casio #2) might help the OS keep track of what is connected to it.

EM500 replace touchscreen

They are in fact very easy to replace if you: 1. Are very careful not to damage the other parts 2. Can find a replacement Understand that the screen is actually two different components, first there is the digitizer which is the part that senses your touching the stylus part. It is a clear glass plate that sits in front of the color lcd unit (the other part). If only the glass is broken, then replacing the digitizer is a cinch. If I remember correctly, the digitizer on the EM-500 is the same as the digitizer as on an E-125. You'll have to check to be sure though. Anyway, it is not too hard, just needs steady, careful hands...and it helps to have a little experience taking these things apart...

Broken screen

Replacement of the digitizer, if the lcd is still intact. If that is damaged as well...sell it for parts, or get parts from another. The EM500 and E125 share the same lcd/digitizer.
