Question about Casio PX-830 BK Privia

1 Answer

The very first time I turned on my brand new PX-830 it was in some sort of catatonic-state: only the power light was on, all the rest of lights remains off and there were no sound or response touching any button or keyboard's key. I waited for about 1 minute, I turned off and on again and it was normal then, all worked perfectly. I thought it was a first-time-on thing. Later the same day the PX-830 was connected to my Mac thru usb cable doing some midi stuff and it worked fine but in a moment while I wasn't doing nothing: catatonic-state again, turning it off and on solved it. Next day I was playing some piano and: catatonic-state again! this time the last sound keep playing in an infinite note. I'm worried about this and I want to know if it is a known issue and if it has a solution or in any case what should I do since I don't like to have a brand new $900+ that goes to a catatonic-state whenever it wants.

Make sure your MAC and the piano are plugged into the SAME receptacle to avoid ground bounce noise.

I have a Piano from Casio Named The PX830 BP.I also have a Sustain Pedal Model from Casio named the SP 33.Will connecting the SP 33 into the PX830 BP work? Please tell me if I have the wrong model.

Unfortunately, the SP33 pedal will not work with the PX-830BP. Casio lists that the SP33 will only work with the PX-150BK, PX-150WE, PX-160BK, PX-160GD, PX-350BK, PX-350WE, PX- 360, and PX-560 keyboards.

The PX-830 manual does not list the stand or the pedal unit as separate items if you need to replace them. The pedal unit has 3 pedals like a traditional piano. I wish that I had better news for you.

Today I received my new Privia px830 and three keys works as an interruptor: play notes at full intensity. Are sensors cracked?

The sensors are rubber, and don't usually crack. Most of the time they are dirty and can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and Q-tips VERY carefully. Also be careful of the ribbon wires inside the keyboard. The keys should just snap in and out. I cleaned mine a little while ago, and now it works perfectly.

How to fix loud key on Privia PX-830

I just fixed mine, it was making the loud sounds and had seemed to have lost the sensitivity. Take out all the screws on the outside, then the sides can come off. That gives access to the inside where you can take out a few more screws (easily seen) and open it all up. The keys themselves just snap in, so two small screwdrivers or strong fingernails can pop them back out. Clean the rubber contacts (they look like little sockets) with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol, then replace the keys. If you take out the white keys of an octave first, then the black keys (keeping them in order) it is a lot easier.

Brake lights are not working on my 1996 chevy s-10 pick-up

check if all brake lights are not working or not , if only one of em is faulty then its time to replace the bulbs . Else its just a blown fuse. Check users manual to find how to replace a fuse .
Thank you .

Hi, the sustain pedal on my Casio PX-830 has a constant squeak now after 6 months, any ideas on a fix for this? Thanks.

clean with q-tips and rubbing alcohol around the moving parts, let dry 5 min, and some graphite lubricant may help. graphite is a slippery dry powder good for reducing friction on moving parts. comes in a little tube, normally sold buy the key making dept at any store
