SOURCE: canon ixus 75 digital camera reset?

The manual states that the battery door was opened during use. Close the battery door and turn it on and off. You may need to push it closed to make sure the battery connections are made.

SOURCE: how to fix digital camera canon ixus 70 'lens

Would not recommend opening the camera as the chances are much greater for you causing greater damage. BUT would instead recommend that you try the seven sequential repair step outlined for a lens error in the below listed Related Link "Fixing a Lens Error on a Digital Camera". None of the steps outlined in this link involve opening the camera. and reportedly you should have close to a 50% chance of success with these techniques.

If you cannot repair the lens yourself with the first related link, then consider trying the two 'Digital camera repair" links below for two online digital camera repair businesses.

My canon ixus 75 is not turning on properly the zoom lense is stuck out and wont retract. When i turn it on it says "lens error reset camera&quot

OK, assuming the batteries are ok, the problem is within the mechanism for the lens being too 'binding' while it operates.

Sometimes, people put their finger on the barrel of the lens when it retracts or extends.

If you reset the camera and it still does this, the camera needs to be serviced by Canon.

Lens error

This is probably THE single most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here: http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Lens will not retract

I had a Canon IXUS II do this.

Unfortunately it required a new lens which the repairer could not supply due to its age. The repairer replaced the camera for the same cost with much more recent model! The repair cost was £70 plus postage. (This was 4 years ago now when a new camera would have cost over £199).

If its under warrantee use it - Sadly it might be cheaper at todays prices to replace it instead of have it fixed.
