Re: Can I playback my recorded DVD-R discs on any DVD...
Yes, A finalized DVD-R disc provides playback capability to most home DVD players and DVD drives.
(An 8cm DVD-R disc recorded by this camcorder may not be able to be played back by some DVD players / DVD drives, depending on the player, the DVD-R disc and the condition of the recording.)

If it is a DVD player, not a recorder, then it is not meant to format discs. DVD players are strictly playback only; they can only read and play discs; they cannot be formatted or recorded in any DVD player.
Hi, Make sure that MiniDVD has been finalized in camcorder then it can be playback in any other DVD Player. Finalize option would be available in camcorder dvd setup menu, select it to finalize recorded mini dvd disc, please note UnFinalized mini dvd disc will only playback in camcorder because of its raw data and Finalization will validate this raw data so other dvd players will recognize this mini dvd disc for playback. Hope these info will help you. Thanks.
Depending on your player model, a few things could be going on: 1. The DVD you are recording to is incompatible with your Go Video player. Check your manual for DVD playback compatibility (DVD+R, DVD-R, DVDRW) 2. Your Go Video player has a laser alignment problem. If it plays other DVDs, yours is most likely the first solution.
the best format to buy is the DVD-R but make sure your disc has been finalised if you reinsert your disc on the functions screen you should see finalise this is essential for compatible playback hope this helps regards Jim
It can be several reasons
1. Disk is upside down
2. Lens is durty. You will need to use CD/DVD cleaning disk for that
3. Disk is having diffrent region code or recorded in diffrent formate (for instance player playback disk recorded in NTSC, and you trying to playback disk in PAL formate)
4.Disk is recorded at higher speed (for instanse player markered X16, but disk is recorded at X24)
What are the compatible types of DVD's that the Daewoo DVD5800 player is supposed to play? Is DVD-R among the compatible types? Try playing the new recordings on a computer that has a DVD drive, or a friend's computer.
You should absolutely be able to play the recorded DVDs from your camcorder in your DVD player, as long as you remember to finalize the disc and the disc is compatible with the player. If your DVD player is less than five years old or so, you should be fine, provided you're not using dual-layer discs.
