Yes: Delete, Play List, Move, Divide, Combine and Fade are available when recording onto DVD-RAM discs. This feature is available by utilizing HITACHI’s Disc Navigation System.
DVD-R discs cannot be edited.

You could put it on your computer and use an editing software and then burn it on to a DVD.
For basic editing softwares: Windows has Movie Maker and Apple has iMovie.
Hope this helps.

use this adapter: ADS Tech USBAV-192-EF Video Xpress USB 2.0 Video Capture to connect your camcorder to the pc and use included software to capture and edit your movies, then create a dvd or share on internet your new edited movie.
first install the cd driver camed from the camcorder to your computer. then use your usb to connect your camcorder and your computer. try to use any movie maker software. (but i recommend to use Ulead Movie Maker as editing and saving software) now you can see your camcorder device on some movie maker and you can upload it now on your computer edit it and save it with any video types that you like. hope that helps!
i have recored the sveral movie on the DVD-R disc using Panasonic VDR-D160 and then i take the DVD-R disc with me to leave for another country (the Panasonic VDR-D160 left at home) and now i can not read the moviesrecored on the DVD-R disc !!! Why this should be ? The computer view the empty disc although it contains several movies when i checked it from Panasonic VDR-D160 camera when i was at home ! How can i do now to read the movies from the disc ? Thanks a lot !
Use firewire cable to coonect to a computer. Transfer the movie from camcorder to the computer (for example using Microsoft Movie Maker - included in Windows XP). Then you can edit it in Movie Maker and save the final movie on the hard disk, DVD or back on DV cassette.
Here is what ya need to do, that is get the correct cable(s) to connect your Camcorder to your PC, usually USB or Firewire.
Then install the software that will allow you to transfer the movie from the camera to your PC where you can then manipulate the files as ya wish with Movie Editing software.
The "Other" way is to burn them to the small Camera Disk, place that disk in ya PC's CD/DVD then simply "Copy" the "Movie" to ya PC, and then once again ya can use Movie Making/Editing software to Join, Edit your movies.
Another way is to connect the output A/V of your camera to your A/V input on your PC (if you have one).. using you Video software capture the Camera Video to the PC & Edit the resultant file, as B4.
Windows Movie Maker works OK, but there are many Freeware programs that one can use..
have a "Google" for these programs .... AnyDVD, convertXtoDVD, Moive joining software, ShrinkDVD, I am sure you will have no trouble finding what ya need.
