I have a sharp crt tv model:25c-bs370,although i'm using cable signal which more than 100 channels,still the channel it receive is limited only to 35 channels...how to rechannel the unit?my tv came from Japan and brought here in Philippines..

The tuner to this TV should be suspected. Replace it.

Channels above 99 require the set to have a digital tuner built into them.

model indicated will not go there unless a catv box is connected to it and used for channel selection.

You didn't say what model number, but check the setup menu to make sure it is set for cable (if you are using cable) and not AIR. Otherwise let me know the model number and what you are using for signal (cable, satellite, etc.)

The TV you have bought from Belgium, Sharp 25R-S100_ model can only recive NTSC [National Telivision System Commitee], signals only. It is not a multisystem compactable one. In France, the telivision boradcasts are in SECAM system I thinks and knows. [It is known as Sequrntial Colour and Memory]. The TV you have bought will work in US and other countries like that, where there transmission sytem is NTSC. I don,t know whether in France there is TV stations transmitting on NTSC system. If have, your TV will receive that transmissions. It is a system compactibility problem.
If the matter is so, nothing can be done to receive programmes transmitting in SECAM system. If a system convertable device is available in France, that is SECAM to NTSC system converter, you can connect it according to the instruction manual come along with that device.
Your TV is capable of receiving 181 channels and have PLL[ Phase Locked Loop] channel locking system, but have only capable of receiving NTSC RF signals. Ok

This television would benefit from an hdtv indoor outdoor amplified antenna not obstructed by trees, aluminum, bricks, and etc. Make sure the signal type is air and not cable and complete a channel scan during primetime tv hours after connecting to this antenna. Buy a large one that you can mount to the wall usually in a large flat box on the shelf in the store. Philips has one sold at Walmart.

Use a VCR as a A/B switch. Run Cable signal into VCR. Run coax cable out of VCR into television. Connect DVD to VCR (line in) using RCA cables. To use DVD, set VCR channel to L1 or L2 or AUX, depending on VCR type. Set VCR to channel 3 or 4 to watch television. VCR must be powered up to watch DVD.

not sure on this model , but check your menu and see under the setup menu if it has a band select option or tuning band. sometimes the autoprogram may pick up the wrong band. Make sure it is set correctly. I had this where it would just make some certain channels bad.

100% you have or a faulty tuner inside that has to be checked for dry joints or it has to changed completely. Patrick
