The picture is about an inch short at top and bottom whether it is in 16:9 or 4:3 mode. Can it be adjusted? Is there a service mode? I am a retired service man.

I have already tried all the adjustments available on the remote control. The problem is that the height needs adjusting and presumably there is an adjustment available via the Service Mode if only we knew how to get into it.

The source of the signal makes no difference to the problem. There are no physical preset adjustments. It must be a software problem but I cannot access a service manual and Konka in New Zealand are no help.

Konka KL24NS62 LCD Television. I need to adjust the height of the picture. It cannot be done via the remote control; so presumably there is a Service Mode to enable this adjustment?

  • Anonymous Jul 11, 2011

Konka KL24NS62 LCD Television. The only picture adjustment available in the Picture menu via the remote control is the aspect ratio (i.e. 16:9 or 4:3) and this only affects the width of the picture but not the height.

You will need to make sure the Picture and Aspect Ratio settings are the same in the TV Menu as they are in your DVD or Blu-Ray player, or TV Tuner, etc. If the settings are matched and you still have a gap at the top and bottom of the screen, you may need to adjust the Picture or Screen Size from inside your TV Menu, if this option is available in your TV. If you are not sure, let me know the make and model of your TV and I will check this for you.

I have a VEON TV model SRO9105 39 inch. My aspect ratio in 9/16 mode is oversized on screen {ie picture is bigger than viewable screen}.

Do a reset to this TV, and then check. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.

Epson adjustment

The projector has a 4:3 display panel (1024x768 pixels). When you send information to display in 4:3 mode, the picture spills over the top and bottom of your screen.

When you send stuff in 16:9 mode, the projector shows this on the screen as 16:9, but the panel area is still 4:3. This can't be altered. So the unused part of the 4:3 panel above and below the image still bleeds some light through. That's what you are seeing.

You can mask some of this effect by using light absorbing material such as black velvet above and below the screen. Alternatively you can replace the projector with one designed for home theater use which has a 16:9 panel to match the shape of your screen.

32 inch EX400 Series BRAVIA LCD TV the picture is cut off on the left hand side of the screen. adjusting the fit to full etc has no effect. Is there something we can do to fix this?

Try connecting any other device to the TV to confirm whether the issue is with the TV. If the issue is with the TV then try resetting the TV to the factory settings. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV.
To power reset the TV, please disconnect the power cord for a short period of time (approximately 1 minute). Then, reconnect the power cord and power on the TV.
Try adjusting the wide modes of the TV. If the issue still persists, then TV may require service.

The picture does not fit the screen. The top and bottom of the picture go beyond the screen

you may need to adjust the aspect ratio of the picture, there is typically an "aspect" button on the remote that will adjust the picture from widescreen, super widescreen 16:9 ratio and sometimes you can zoom in. try that

My Pioneer 55 inch screen tv SD-P5553 has a solid black horizonta

This sounds like a picture mode issue. You maybe in a ZOOM mode. Try adjusting your set to FULL mode. If you are using a Sat receiver or cable box, some of these may have picture viewing mode as well, wich may need to be set in FULL or NORMAL viewing mode.

Good Luck!

Picture Size problem with Samsung Flat panel LN-T3253H

You should contact Samsung service to know if the internal setup for the picture sizing was not adjusted properly at the factory.

Take care that some of these sets have a user zoom mode. Maybe it is in the zoom mode. Check in your instruction manual before calling for service support.

Picture size won't fit screen. Can't see scrolling text at bottom (e.g. sports scores on ESPN)

hi there,

its probably not the tv but the set top box you need to fix. go to the settings and select the mode you want ie. widescreen 16:9 etc

then go to the tv and select the full mode or widescreen mode at 16:9

that should solve your problem. it takes some time to find the combination between the set top box and the tv to get it right

good luck
