1997 Olds Aurora A/C Issues

I have a 1997 Olds Aurora that the outside temp gauge reads 30 degrees or less. This is causing the A/C Compressor not to kick in. Where is the outside temp gauge and how can i fix this before going onto the next issue with the A/C.?

The outside temp sensor is located in front of the radiator at the bottom of the radiator....It should have a two wire harness pluged into it.

2001 Olds Aurora. The fan is blowing but very little heat is coming out. Maybe 60 degrees tops. Where should I begin my trouble shooting to see what needs replacing?

First check to see that the cooling system is properly filled.
Next, watch you engine temperature and see that it hits operating temperature. If the thermostat sticks open the engine will never get up to normal temp. On my Aurora, that is exactly midway on the temp gauge.

98 BUICK REGAL GS AC compressor will not come on. It has the climate control unit. All the lights and fans work and there is enought freon. The display reads -38 degrees for the outside temp. Would this...

If the outside temp.sensor is reading -38 degrees then this is what is causing the compressor not to come on.You need to check the wiring to the outside temp.sensor and the sensor.Make sure it is connected. It is located on the front grill area.Between the grill and the bumper cover.Hope this helps.Good luck.

Climate control display for Outside temperature

Had the same problem, replaced the ambient air temp sensor in front of the radiator. Cost is like 10-15 bucks. Don't worry if temp doesn't change right away. Took me about 5 miles and then it worked great.

Outside temp sensor does not work on 1995 olds aurora

You can buy a replacement ambient air temp sensor at an auto parts store for about $10. Its as simple to change as a light bulb and can be found behind your front bumper at the base of the radiator.

Power steering pump and belt replacement on 1997 olds aurora

More than likely it's the A/C compressor clutch is going bad. Cut the old serpentine belt off and install a shorter belt to bypass the A/C compressor for now.

Both switches are simple on/off, so you can test with an ohmmeter or just bypass with a paper clip. See your diagram at the link below.
