Only DV connections (IEEE1394 connections) are possible when connecting your camcorder to a computer. DV connections (IEEE1394 connections) Your camcorder can be connected to a computer equipped with an IEEE1394 (DV) terminal or OHCI-compliant IEEE1394 capture board. You can transfer taped recordings (digital video signals) to the computer by connecting the camcorder to the computer. Use the editing software supplied with your computer/capture board to transfer video recordings from tape to the computer. If you are using a computer running Windows XP, you can also record the video simultaneously on your computer's hard disk and on the tape using DV-PC Recorder Software. You can download the DV-PC Recorder Software from Canon's DV-PC Recorder Web site. Making the connection Connect the camcorder to the computer as shown in the figure below. The computer's IEEE1394 (DV) terminal is either a 4-pin or a 6-pin type, depending on the computer used. Use either the CV-150F (4-pin - 4-pin) or the CV-250F (4-pin - 6-pin) DV cable (sold separately), whichever fits your computer's terminal. Precautions (1) There are cases where the connection may not work correctly, depending on your system specifications/settings. (2) If the computer freezes while you have the camcorder connected to it , disconnect and reconnect the DV cable. If the problem persists, take the following actions. (2-1) Disconnect the DV cable from the camcorder and the computer, and then turn off the camcorder and the computer. (2-2) Turn the camcorder and the computer back on and then reconnect them with the DV cable. (3) Your camera cannot be used with DV NETWORK SOFTWARE (DV Messenger).

Sir when I canect my dv camcorder pc via fire wire ...but not capture video..and erorr show code 1021 ...there are no free reusorses in computer...how to solve problum...help me....thanks..

see this topic and contact the supplier .God bless you

FireWire connection to computer keeps getting dropped. Check with manufacturer to make sure you have the latest driver and firmware updates for your camera and computer. Always turn the camera's power on before making a FireWire connection. Disconnect the FireWire cable before turning the camera off. Use the camera's AC adapter when making FireWire connections. Try a different FireWire cable and try connecting the camera to a different computer. FireWire cables and ports sometimes fail.

Transfer vidoes to a computer using a USB connection

Consider NOT using the USB connection.
The best way to download videos (and pictures) from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy videos and pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files.

I,ve purchased a apple mac and can,t get my jvc 700x to comply with it

In order to import video you have to connect your computer to the DV in/out connection on the side of the camera. In your manual its on index page 6 and its the connection on the side of the camera #25 in the index. You have to have a DV cable that connects one side to the DV out of the camera and usually a firewire port on your computer. USB connections usually don't work for importing video to your computer.
Here is a link to the manual http://resources.jvc.com/Resources/00/00/95/LYT1280-001B.pdf

I got sony cybershot dsc p 200 model digital camera. But it is not supported as web cam . Please give suggestions to set up the camera as web cam

Many digital cameras support streaming video over the USB connection, to use as a webcam. Unfortunately Sony cameras do not do this; I am confident of this, because they offer a tutorial describing how to make an analogue connection from your camera to your computer, for use as a webcam! (I feel this is a poor solution because few computers have an analogue video-in connection, and not all cameras have a video-out. They would not offer this solution if the USB streaming was possible.)

I'm sorry to tell you that unless you are really lucky and are able to follow Sony's tutorial, your best bet is to buy a webcam and forget using your camera. A whole webcam could easily be cheaper than the cable that Sony suggest you use...

I need the Panasonic NV-GS27 drivers

I don't think you do. According to the Panasonic document "Operating Instructions (PC-Connection)", your camera does not use a USB connection and did not even come with the software CD that was shipped with cameras that have a USB connection.

You need to use the Firewire (DV) interface to transfer videos, and this does not require drivers. It does require Windows XP with service pack 2 (or 3) and DirectX 9.0b/9.0c, and you will probably need to fit a Firewire interface card to the computer's internal PCI bus, as most Windows computers don't come with this connection. Whether this camera will work with Windows 7 is not covered by the document.

You then use various video editing software (commercially available or free downloads from the internet) to download the recordings. The software on the computer controls my Mini-DV camera, including rewinding and play functions to record from the tape in the camera.

You can obtain a copy of the Panasonic document from THIS LINK

S-video port

Fist of all I like to inform in computer S-Video output of the camera usually does not fit to computer. Only if the computer has S-Video Input card it will be possible. However logic is simple. Digital Camera or Camcorders uses 1394 or USB connection to connect to the computer. You havent indicate what model of JVC you use, almost all JVC Digital Cameras come with USB connection option. All you need to put USB cable in between. If it asks driver, use the CD comes with the Camera or download from JVC's support website.
