Oct 9, 2012 - Brightness goes down, display draws less juice, and you can at least use .... it's the LCD's Inverter ... you have to replace it for it to go back to ... I am no expert, but I would be looking for a replacement or warranty on that unit.

Unfortunately there is very little an every day user can do to fix a problem like this on their own.

what is the brand, model? try to be specific if you want be helped!!!

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
