It has a Telbook (Telephone Book) Feature. I would like to figure out how to import telephone numbers. The manual is not descriptive as to how to do this and I could not find help online. I tried saving a Windows XP Outlook Express 6 Windows Address Book (WAB) file onto the device, and it could not import it. When I tried exporting an empty TelBook file on the device, it created a .BIN file. It's a shame because it works great with .txt files. Any ideas on getting telephone numbers in to it?

SOURCE: help... How !!!!

well I don`t know much about mp3 players...but i do know that it is sort of tough to find answers. To load a type of file, Example: music, you click music on the media manager software prgra, and then you click on the button that says add folder. go into your documents to find the music that you want to put on the device. left click on the mouse to drag up the songs you want and click OPEN. make sure your player is in and then hit download. your multi media player will have more media.
Later,

SOURCE: My GC820 is not working

The firmware does not need to be updated. After a mode is selected by moving the mode slider switch left or right then depress that same mode slider switch like a button. When the mode switch is used to change a mode but one does not press it in to select it, that is when the play button changes colors.

Factory password

According to the user manual the password is set thru your phone service provider. I was able to reset mine through Verizon's (my phone carrier) website. Here is an excerpt from the user manual:

This telephone does not have a built-in answering system. This telephone supports voicemail feature offered by your telephone service provider (subscription is required, and fees may apply).
To use the voicemail:
To retrieve your voicemail messages, you typically dial an access number provided by your telephone service provider, and then enter a security code. Contact your telephone service provider for instructions on how to configure the voicemail settings and listen to messages.

Hope this helps!

Can lexmark x4650 be set to recognize fax?

For more details on how to setup your Lexmark X4650 printer for faxing, please refer to the User's Guide found on the Lexmark website.
Additional info:If you have an answering on the same line as your fax:

To make sure the printer picks up incoming faxes, set Auto Answer to On, and then set the printer to pick up after a greater number of rings than the answering machine. For example, if the answering machine picks up calls after four rings, then set the printer to pick up after six rings. This way, the answering machine picks up calls first and your voice calls are received. If the call is a fax, then the printer detects the fax signal on the line and takes over the call.

If you have a voicemail feature associated in the same line as your fax:

Voice mail and fax can share the same telephone line if you subscribe to a distinctive ring service offered by your telephone company. This feature allows you to have multiple telephone numbers on one telephone line. Each telephone number has a designated ring pattern (single ring, double ring, triple ring, or double and triple ring). The different ring patterns let you know which telephone number was dialed, and which device you should use to answer the call.

If you do not have distinctive ring service, then set the printer to receive faxes manually (Auto Answer Off). This setting lets you receive both voice calls and fax calls, but works best if you use voice mail more often. You need to turn off voice mail whenever you are expecting a fax.

Cal do you use the call forward feature on the AASTRA Telecom 9316 CW telephone to forward calls to another coworkers telephone number.

In order to set call forwarding on this telephone, must first have the feature CFV (Call Forward Variable) on in the line. This feature can be provided by the telephone service provider.

A typical feature code for this is *72 to activate CFV and *73 to deactivate.

You can program these features on the M9316 telephone by do the following:

CFV activate

1) Press the SAVE key.
2) Then select the key where you want to program the feature.
3) Then enter *72 (optional: plus the telephone number of where you want the call to forward to).
4) Press SAVE twice.

CFV deactivate

1) Press the SAVE key
2) Then select another key where you want to program the feature.
3) Then enter *73
4) Press SAVE twice.

Be sure and label your buttons.

To use go off hook and press the key you just programmed.

Program phone numbers into memory

My friend, thank you for this information. I understand your frustration at not being able to program Mom's telephone number into your Durabrand so she can speed dial you.

Thank you for this information. At least now I can suspect this is a telephone to be used with a hard wire telephone system, probably in a home, and not a cell telephone.

I searched Durabrand and, well, I still don't know who they are or where they are. I was going to try to get to the instruction book that should have come with your telephone. I couldn't find any Durabrand web site. So, now I share a part of your frustration, but at least you have the telephone in your hand to work with, while I have nothing.

If this is a new device, and you don't have the instruction book, I suggest you return it to the place you bought it and get a model that has instructions with it. Perhaps you should inquire before you leave the store as to programming issues.

The best I can do at this point is offer this web site for you to search: www.archive.org. And, additionally, I will suggest there is, on the telephone, some place where you can get a menu. You will have to search the menu for the speed dial directory. Once you find that, it should be self-explaniatory.

My friend, thank you for using FixYa.com. Please come back often. Remember, good questions get good, quick answers at FixYa.com. Please include important particulars without drowning we volunteer question catchers with unnecessary details.

Thanks

On the m9516 what is the fax switch on and off used for?

The Fax Switch
The Fax Switch feature allows you to have two telephone numbers on one incoming line.
There is one telephone number for the line and another telephone number for a Fax Switch peripheral (e.g. fax machine).
To use the Fax Switch, you must subscribe to your telephone company for Distinctive Ringing†. The telephone company will then provide you with an additional telephone number (for your Fax Switch peripheral) which will have a slightly different ring. The 9516 will use the two ring types to determine whether an incoming call is for the telephone or the peripheral. The peripheral should be set to answer after three or more rings.
Note: If Long Distance Ringing† is available in your area, long distance calls will be sent to the Fax Switch peripheral. Also, you cannot use the Fax Switch feature and the Special Greeting feature at the same time. The 9516 must be configured so the Fax Switch peripheral is connected to pins 3 and 4 of jack number 2. See Connecting an optional fax machine or modem on
page 4 for more information.

Note:
If you subscribe to your telephone company for Call Waiting services, your Fax Switch peripheral may lose data or get disconnected if someone calls while your fax is receiving data. We recommend that you do not subscribe to the Call Waiting service from your telephone company if you are using the Fax Switch feature.

Does the Dect 6.0 recognize when a phone number needs a 1 before the area code (1-800-.......)?   I entered some numbers with the required 1, and some without it.  All the calls went through.   In a few...

If you save from caller ID to the phone book from an out of area code number, the manual doesn't tell you that you have press the * key while the number is displayed and it will insert a 1 before the area code. Do this before trying to call from caller ID or copying the number to the phone book. I had to delete the area code stored in the global set up to get the caller the "*" feature to work for my local calls other wise it would just put a 1 in before the 7 digit number and would not work when it is store.
