I want to restore my nokia n82 to factory settings, and wipe everything [files etc]. Can someone please tell me how to do this in simple terms asking default lock code is 12345.iam using *#7370# asking code code error i dont now password

To make it simple, A master reset restores your phone to default factory settings wiping off data from it...

with out a password reset disk or original password you pretty much gonna have to do a full factory restore to wipe everything the password is protecting including the account. Now this will wipe everything you have put on the pc including paid for items such as anti virus etc.
the process it self it easy enough just type in to google
restore to factory settings (make & model). If u have password then its simple on windows go into control panel then user accounts click the option of removing password/ profile you do need to be an adminstrator to remove a profile or the profile user for the password.

Here are the 2 steps that you can do in resetting your phone.

Normal Reset (*#7780#) : Restores ini files from rom but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc)

Deep Reset (*#7370#) : This reformat completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

What is your N82 version ? .... is it v35

Try disabling 3G to see if thats the cause, if so request a new sim card. Menu> Settings > Connectivity > Network > Network mode - set to GSM.

If that doesn't help try the following reset codes, if the first one doesn't solve the problem try the second. The first code will just reset your settings. The second will reset everything and wipe all of your data. Be sure to backup before using either of them.

Enter these like dialing a number:

Reset to factory defaults (*#7780#) : Restores settings but preserves user data (photos, 3rd party apps etc).

Reset (*#7370#) : This reformats completely the C: drive. All applications and files stored on this drive will be lost and clean default files will be rewritten.

If after these codes you still have the problem you will need to contact vodafone as it may be a sim card or hardware fault.

Follow the following 4 steps to reset your handset and erases all data.

Enter *#7370#
Press Yes
Enter Lock Code (default 12345)
Press OK

Handset will switch off and restart after reset. This may take a few minutes.

• Soft Reset (*#7780#): This is a normal reset. It will load the original settings from the phone's ROM. However, it will retain the user's own data. Like images, music, installed applications etc.

• Hard Reset (*#7370#): This method completely reformats the C: drive (Phone Memory). All the user information will be deleted. Like images, music files, installed applications etc. Hence, the phone is set to the default factory settings.

OR

Switch Off the device.
* Press and Hold down the keys Green/Talk + 3 + *.
* Switch On the device.
* If everything goes well then you will see "Formatting" screen.
On performing any of above methods of formatting the phone, device will ask you for a security/lock code. Default code is 12345.

The link above will explain how to restore the phone to its original condition. This effectively reinstalls S60. It also wipes out everything else on the phone so be sure to use Noia PC Suite to back up what you need to keep and to restore it after the reinstall of S60.
