Double check your internal connections paying close attention to any wires that connect to the outer case. The intrusion detection in these is usually a wire attached to the cabinet that tells the Bios when the case has been opened. Reconnect the wires and reset the Bios by entering Bio and doing a save and exit, usually an F10 key press. That should resolve the issue. If the drive itself has a detection built into it there is something wrong with the drive unless you have opened it and that would be a bad thing either way.

Chassis intruder, fatal error system halt on asus p5pe-vm.how can i fix it

Hello, you can download a manual here:

http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_775/P5PEVM/#download

Please select your windows version.
Select manual and click on global for download.
Unzip the file before installation.

And remove the cable on the mainboard for the contact on the chassis.
When that is done enter the bios and set the setting for the chassis intruder to off
Read about that in the manual.
The chassis intruder is used by admins to see if the case have been opened
when the case is opened the bios will block the system from booting until the setting in the bios
is set back to normal.

When I turn on my pc a message will appear: "Please enter Setup to recover Bios settings. Chassis intruded. fatal error... system halted"

First, turn off your computer, disconnect all cables.
Then, find the manual for this particular motherboard - locate in it where the "chassis intruder jumper" is. Then move the plastic jumper from pins 1 and 2 (left) to 2 and 3 (right). Keep them there for 10 seconds, then move the plastic piece back to pins 1 and 2. This should fix the problem.
Hope that helps! :)

"the system intruded chassis opnened

The NRL_LS has a connector for a microswitch on the case, to detect if the case is opened.
Look for jumper J2, between the battery and the bios chip, at one end of a long connector CON1.
There should be 2 adjacent bare pins at one end of J2.
Place a jumper block on them, and the system should start normally.

The manual is here +NRL-LS Cover.P65 - ftp.asus.com.tw

Look at item 9 on page 2-22, referring to jumper J2

Chasis intruder is a warning that your CPU has been opened by someone
it is normally used to warn you against unautorized BIOS or SYSTEM PASSWORD removal

What is a chassis intruder?

That message means that the side panels of the case of the computer are not closed. You need to replace the side panels if you removed them. And, if you did not, you have a bad intrusion switch. The switch tells the computer that the side panels are open or removed completely. Make sure you screw them back in completely as well.

ASUS P5LD2-VM Chassis Intrude

Do you mean the pins for the chassis intrusion on the board are broken off?
if not broken then just jumper them and bypass the switch.
