Hi,

I have a Panasonic DMC-FZ7, and there is one setting that I know of which will cause two images to be recorded:

#1. Open both photos in the computer and check the ending of the file name. One of them will say ".jpg" or ".jpeg" and the other photo will say ".tif" or ".tiff".

#2. If this is the case and you want smaller, compressed pictures, turn off the TIFF setting in your camera. It should say how to do this in the user-manual.

What size sd card for a lumix dmc fz5?

The DMC-FZ5 works with any SD card, 2GB or smaller. It will not work with higher-capacity SDHC cards.

Trying to upload pics with my card reader and it says the pictures aren't supported, so they won't upload...any ideas why? Just uploaded from another camera

sir the memory card that you have in your camera do not allow pics to upload.Because the card that we put in the camera only allow picture to download from it.It will not allow pics to upload to it.If you want to upload pics to your camera try after putting a micro SD card. For that you should buy a micro SD adapter. After putting micro SD into that adapter you can put that into your camera. Then it will allow both uploading and downloading.

PROBLEM WITH DMC-FZ5 I GET MEMORY CARD ERROR FROM A EXISTING CARD SO BOUGHT A NEW ONE WITH SAME ERROR

Memory card error usually means the camera wants you to format the card in the camera. This will erase it so download any pics first.

Were these cards from another camera and now you want to start using them in the Lumix? If so, you must format the card in the Lumix to get it to work. This will erase the card so download any pics first.

The programs can be downloaded at the support section of the Panasonic website. You can also use an inexpensive card reader to download your pics to a folder you create on your desktop.

Panasonic Lumix DMC TZ3

Use your USB cable or a Card Reader. Read your manual to insert Date on pictures. Note date will show on pic and cannot be removed.

Best idea is to downloand you pics asap and change each pic file name to embed date taken in filename, not on the pic itself.

I recomment the San Disk MobileMate SD+ miniature Card Reader for SD and MicroSD card reading. Just a little larger than a Flash Thumb Drive. Saves lugging around a USB camera cable and saves your camera power otherwise needed to power a download via a USB cable. About $15 at RadioShack, Staples, etc retail stores selling cameras.

FZ5 to PC download problems

My golden rule with any digital camera is to ignore the [email protected] software that comes with it - it is NOT required to download the photos off the camera. Simply (assuming you're using Windows XP) goto "My Computer", select the removable drive that is the camera (e.g. drive E:), go down a few levels of folders and you will see the files - select and copy or cut.

Lumix® digital camera storage path

Unlike 35mm cameras that store images on film, Lumix® Digital Cameras store images on SD Memory Cards, which make sharing and storing your pictures easy and convenient. You simply insert an SD Memory Card into the camera, take pictures until the card is full, and then you can transfer the pictures onto a compatible PC. Once you saved all your pictures, you can erase the card and start all over again.
