I see that you are getting colore lines on the screen hiding half of your LCD screen, Please see steps below.
*Turn your Laptop OFF.
*Once Turned OFF, Turned the Laptop back ON then keep on tapping F2 on your keyboard.
*By Tapping F2 on the keyboard this will bring you to the BIOS screen, once in the BIOS of your Laptop and the Colored Lines are still present then the problem is the LCD of your laptop and may reuire replacing.
*If the Colored Lines are not present then the Problem would possibly be the connection of the Video Card to the LCD or the Video Card itself.
*Reformatting Windows can be one of the steps to be done to find out if the issue Colored Lines will be fixed or not.
This is a catastrophic and known failure of older Toshiba sets, not much you can do, try to take out a retrospective extended warranty, wait a month and claim, good luck.
there is a defected capacitor in the vertical circuit trouble shoot and replace. or if the vertical circuit is separate then replace the whole board.good luck
your flex cable is either bad or going bad...you need to have it replaced at a qualified phone repair shop.or your screen might be going...my first guess would be the flex cable
