My new camera works fine in all modes, and pictures appear great on TV, but when I connect it to the computer and open Picture Shuttle, I don't get the camera Icon up. All that appears is the sample 10 Icon. Plug, unplug, wiggle connections, nothing makes the camera icon appear. Anybody got any ideas?? Is the camera defective and not transfering data to the computer or am I not doing something right? I click on "update information", but still only the sample10 icon appears. Any suggestions welcome
First, ensure that both computer and camera are turned-off when you connect the two. Next, ensure the your serial port is not servicing another application.... In my case the Hot-Synch Manager for my Palm Organizer conflicted with Picture Shuttle. I simply exited Hot-Synch Manager and the Picture Shuttle worked as promised. I hope your fix is as easy...
