A problem has occurred with the carriage assembly. Recommended action
Turn the printer off and allow a few minutes for printer to cool. Turn the printer on and attempt to verify functionality.
If the problem persists, click on Support at the top of the page for additional HP support and contact options.
The service station on the printer has likely failed. This is the part of the printer that cleans the printheads to maintain print quality. Replacing this item requires diassembly of the printer and requires a certain amount of technical ability. If you are not afraid to take this on, you will need to contact HP and order Part Number C7769-60149.
If you are going to take this on yourself, post back and I can send you some instructions on the actual replacement of the service station.
Or contact an HP Designjet technician and have them replace it for you.
Well this is an old post but my 2 cents anyway... Theres nothing to really fail on the service station besides the motor and that's highly unlikely. As a service tech I find that it gets gummed up with in and needs to be broken down and cleaned.Warning, there's lots of parts and lots of half dried ink, so expect to spend an hour getting it out of the machine and cleaning.
